OK, I don't follow things too closely, but bugger me, Liverpool surely need to get shot of Mane.... overpaid, useless tw@t, but hey, that's just my opinion.... :banghead:

[EDIT] On his God only knows what chance - an open goal he actually hits the target. No doubt now classed a hero....

Although he did eventually score a goal in a fairly comfortable 3-0 win against Leeds!!

Ndombele getting a first start today. Nuno had to change it up as the last few games have been shockers. Think we've only played well in the first game against City. Not creating anything. Horrible stat I saw today – Tottenham have created fewer big chances than Norwich!

Ndombele or not, I've a feeling Chelsea may give us a thumping today. :(

Not a thumping, but Spurs have been pretty woeful against an average Chelsea team and 0-2 could have been worse!!

Average? We could have scored 10! Granted, Tottenham started very well, but from about the middle of the first half, the game began to change. The tactical change at half time, which couldn't have been a surprise to anyone, sealed it. After that, the result was never in doubt. Not even close.

By his standards, Lukaku had a quiet game and as you’ve mentioned, in the first 30 minutes Spurs were the better of what I consider two very average teams, but agreed, as the game went on then Chelsea started to impose their presence - but it lacked intensity/quality IMO!!

We totally outclassed Tottenham in the 2nd half and scored 3 goals. In total, we had 10 shots on target, nearly all in the 2nd half. Only Loris and Werners usual poor finishing kept the score down. You had two efforts in 90 minutes. There was only one average team on the pitch.

Excerpts From The Times report:

'But for the reflexes of Hugo Lloris, Chelsea would have won by even more'.

'Chelsea have the better head coach, the better starting XI, the better squad and the better mindset. What will worry those Spurs fans flocking to the exits before the end was that there seemed nobody on the field with the will to fight back'.

'Once Spurs were behind, they slid. Beyond Lloris’s defiance, they lacked leadership'.

'Chelsea were a class apart, showing all the guile that helped to make them champions of Europe. Each player believed in himself and in his team-mates. Each understood the role assigned him by Tuchel. Like an experienced heavyweight, they kept Spurs at arms length'.

I’m not a Spurs fan, I was just watching the game and IMO neither team played particular well, albeit that Chelsea were definitely the better of the two, but I just didn’t find the game very exciting - although that’s quite common in many games!!

Careful DB caller gets a bit touchy about chelsea. And whatever you do, don't remind him that John Terry is a bellend.

Just be thankful you're not Tottenham. Since the City game we've been outplayed by Wolves (though we won), Palace and now Chelsea. It's gonna be a long, tiring season. But...

We were top for a moment.

I didn't know this till now. If you search Google Maps for 'empty seats' it takes you to City's stadium. 🤣🤣🤣

Don't worry caller, beating Man City isn't for everyone.

And United get dumped by Villa! A great start to the weekend's football. I'm sure Tottenham will manage to feck it all up tomorrow against the Arse, though.
