Hmm, yes and no. Anyone who has read the book(s) is unlikely to be completely satisfied. It was only when I saw 'Part I' in the opening credits that I realised we weren't going to get the full story, and I'd have liked more rather than less. As far as I can see Part II has yet to be given the go-ahead, and if that doesn't happen I'll feel cheated!

It's a story that really needs the full on LOTR treatment!
My verdict, worth a look, but don't hold your breath: 5, maybe 6/10...
It remains close to the 1984 version, which is pretty painful to watch with the acting and cheesy visual effects (though seeing Sting get stabbed was amusing). I haven't read the books yet but will make an effort to now. Enjoyed the new Dune Part 1 with all its visual eye candy, but as you say, they had better follow it up with a second worm-riding blockbuster to avoid major disappointment.

Gunpowder Milkshake

Mediocre to average reviews, but I thought it was excellent! Elements of a female John Wick - loads of violence and a bundle of laughs. You'll probably immediately recognise Mom, but I had to go to google - wrong hair colour and too many clothes, I think.

I watched that some weeks ago and like yourself I thoroughly enjoyed it. Enough to put in my 'Classic' file of saved movies.

Gunpowder milkshake 2 is already under development. Can't wait.

^^^Not checked that out yet, got a really good cast. On the list.

A good day for pirate movies before their release dates. Two released a day early and one a few weeks early. The new Paranormal: Next of Kin, Bruce Willis' Apex and the prequel to Army of the Dead, Army of Thieves have all hit the shelves over on pirate bay.

YTS should nick em over the next day or so I guess. :D

They're also on YTS.

I watched Army of Thieves earlier on 123Hulu.
Downloaded the latest Paranormal from YTS yesterday but haven't got around to watching it yet.

I hardly ever use piratebay. HDPrime has the latest movies. YTS are pretty quick with the latest movies. 123Hulu has pretty much any movie or series you can think of. The quality, in the main, is good. However be aware that some of the latest movies are sponsored by 'SlotsLight' and should be avoided until a better copy arrives.

What link are you using for Pirate Bay? The openpirate link I was using now just goes to a page that says "This domain was recently registered at Namecheap.com. Please check back later"

You're right. Well I could see Apex and Paranormal Activity anywho. I like Bruce Willis but he generally does absolute guff films now. Not even B movies, mostly C! Hope Apex is different. :D

Enjoyed all the paranormal activities though. Even though they got gradually worse as they went along. Must be 5 or 6 of them already. Fingers crossed for the new one.

Finch (downloaded from YTS)

The words 'sentimental' and 'claptrap' spring to mind, but I may be being a tad harsh...

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/n ... road-apple

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/finch
In "Finch," a man, a robot and a dog form an unlikely family in a powerful and moving adventure of one man's quest to ensure that his beloved canine companion will be cared for after he's gone. Tom Hanks stars as Finch, a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event that has left the world a wasteland. But Finch, who has been living in an underground bunker for a decade, has built a world of his own that he shares with his dog, Goodyear. He creates a robot, played by Caleb Landry Jones, to watch over Goodyear when he no longer can. As the trio embarks on a perilous journey into a desolate American West, Finch strives to show his creation, who names himself Jeff, the joy and wonder of what it means to be alive. Their road trip is paved with both challenges and humor, as it's as difficult for Finch to goad Jeff and Goodyear to get along as it is for him to manage the dangers of the new world.

The real star of the movie is the robot, Jeff.
