Buying online from Lazada
Re: Buying online from Lazada
I've been trying to deal with a lot of sellers over the last 24 hours, and it has been a real eye opener. Many of the sellers I've been dealing with are not shops/warehouses. They will never have seen the product. They are merely facilitators, accepting the order, and moving the order to China, who will supply direct. The seller only receives the cash.
OK, the item I'm after is quite specialised, and the process I describe will be fairly minimal compared with much of Lazada's business. Over many years, I have been well satisfied with most of what I've purchased from Lazada, and the lead times.

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I draw the line at sellers who cut and paste a real product's model number and photo - latest two were a VRH faucet and a Makita power tool. Both were returned as counterfeit items with the seller eating the freight both ways.
Re: Buying online from Lazada
I always search for and use 'official / authorized' stores on LAZ, when available. They do have one for Makita:

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I've decided to buy a new TV. I found the model I want, and have been through the usual searches. Lazada are cheapest, but they don't have stock
Hours of searching, and JD Central comes up with the most competitive price. I add it to the cart, and get asked if I want the washing service for an extra 700฿. It isn't actually a question, it is a statement - I can only move forward if I agree to paying the extra 700฿. It's a brand new TV, and I just can't see what I would want with a washing service. Can anybody explain please?

I had it switched to English.
BTW I've moved to another seller.

It's like the car dealers who charge for "prepping" the car. Never mind, I'll wash it myself.Big Boy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 2:05 pm I've decided to buy a new TV. I found the model I want, and have been through the usual searches. Lazada are cheapest, but they don't have stock

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I bought an 86" LG through Lazada. I certainly wasn't asked any such question. It was delivered in 3 days, 10,000 cheaper than HomePro and they put it together and set it up. Only when I was happy did they want a signature.
Once again, I suppose it depends on the trader.

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I should have listened to my own advice

I've just received an Oximeter that I purchased for Mrs BB. When looking, I found a load at an incredibly low price, so I couldn't resist a bargain. This is what has just arrived (or should I say, "Hasn't arrived?":
I've now ordered another at a sensible price. It should fit nicely inside my posh empty box

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I always make a video of unpacking every online order, from every vendor. Has saved me a couple times. Plug things in, test them, have a meter to test batteries (order a lot of lipos, or use to). At least to make sure they function and items not DOA. Lots of RC stuff, cars, boats, planes, drones, open and at least bind them to controller, and go through a couple functions.
Been real lucky, as only a couple items not as described, and only once didn't get refund or compensated. Easily 100 to possibly 200 orders. A couple orders took quite a bit of correspondence & patience, but always paid off.
Prefer LAZ, Shopee, Banggood, AliExpress, in that order, and COD, if possible. No longer bother with ebay. Central & HomePro rare, but occasionally have a good sale.

Re: Buying online from Lazada
First time I had a scam at Lazada. I ordered a TV at a seller named zhengfui and I paid with Debit Card. I received a small package with a cheap plastic cover for a Smartphone. I was not at home when it came and my wife took it. I looked at the order and it was marked as delivered (shock). I tried to reach Zhengfui, but the seller does not exist any more. So I messaged it to Lazada with a photo. 2 days later I got a refund of the total amount, incl. shipping costs to my Debit Card. Good buyer protection from Lazada.
Re: Buying online from Lazada
Agree. I had 1 major issue with only 1 supplier, and refused refund (drone battery), using every excuse in the play book, me a newb, bad equipment / drone & meters, to just calling me an idiot. Through more correspondences than I thought needed, though understand trusting vendor more than shopper sometimes, especially since ignorant of the product, and I proved with vids I knew what I was talking about. Finally got full refund.
LAZ our 'go to' just for that reason. Shopee next, and then anything from overseas, other vendors, rare, it's COD.

Re: Buying online from Lazada
I've mentioned before to shop around in Lazada because the same article can vary in price. Well I was googling something and as is usual, shopping platforms come up automatically with options. These came up side by side. Same product but look at the difference in price!
Re: Buying online from Lazada
I find it is often better to search Google for what you want as it'll show several different options from Laz, Shoppee, etc - all different prices for the same thing of course.
Also, be wary of all the fakes on Laz, it is awash with counterfeit goods, as mentioned above, using the official stores is the best way to go. If something is too cheap, there is a reason why.
