The best thing Jimmy is take a look for yourself. Then you can make your own judgement.

big jimmy, I'm pretty sure the prices that Avalon quote are just for the house, you have to pay for the plot of land seperately. It's a bit like quoting the price of a car and then telling you that you don't get the engine for that.

That's a bad analogy Steve.
In this case, you buy the land at varying sizes. Maybe you want a very large plot or one that will just fit your house. It means that you're not stuck on a standard plot as in most developments. Very sensible really.

As for the car, well you can buy it with a range of different size engines.

I'll take mine with w/ a 3.8 litre intercooled turbo please.

On Avalon you can hold the cheesy looking Spanish style houese.
Where do you think we are Lloret de Mar?

I've nothing personal against Avalon, but the I've been around a bit and it's definately not normal to advertise a house for sale with a price next to a photo that fails to reflect the fact that you are not getting the land under the house. The very fact that the issue appears here shows that the advertising is not transparent.

Oh Lloret de Mar, spent my first foreign holiday there with the boys in about 1972. Great fun at the time but NOW not a chance. Dark haired, olive skinned Spanish women however, sexy!

Jimmy, that wasn't my quote, that was a DA's quote.

I've not seen the ad that's being referred to but certainly at the agents and i the brochures it's quite clear from what I recall.

I think many Europeans would like to 'retire' to Spain but are unable to afford it. So they're moving to Thailand and 'pretending' it's Spain without the costs.

Good to see all the replies guys..I guess the land is extra..but for the life of me I can't see what quality you will get for 4 million baht if they are giving you 7 beds and 5 baths...I have to feel there is a catch somewhere ?..Maybe its a developer cashing in on the Brits idea of a house in the sun ?....Interesting to see that no one has replied to this thread who has bought an Avalon home as I am sure there are a few members who have bought one...hope someone will reply..?

Extra bedrooms = larger floor area + more walls. Not a big deal.
Oh, and some extra piping and bath fixtures. Again, not a big deal.
As for price not refelcting land, it might be well to do some reading apart from the picture. They aren't concealing anything.

I have seen a lot of pros and cons on Avalon. I would like to here more from actual buyers.

Are their any buys on the board?
