Kilogram of nails, screws and knives removed from man's stomach
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-58771370
A Lithuanian man has had more than a kilogram of nails, screws, nuts and knives removed from his stomach by doctors, local media report.
He had been swallowing metal objects for a month after quitting alcohol, doctors said.
Some of the objects retrieved during a surgery in Klaipeda University Hospital were 10cm (4in) long, according to Lithuania's LRT public broadcaster.
Surgeon Sarunas Dailidenas called it a "unique case".
In its article (in Lithuanian), LRT published a KUH photo showing a surgical tray full of metal objects after the emergency three-hour operation.
The man was brought by ambulance with severe abdominal pain to the hospital on the Baltic Sea coast.
He is now reported to be in a stable condition, and is being monitored at KUH.

In a time when anything can be deemed offensive, teachers need to be particularly mindful when discussing topics to students.
So this teacher decided that this was the most appropriate way to teach about Native Americans in class. With a Native American student present.

I've no idea what she was trying to teach. Holy shit though, what a donut! She seems unhinged. How could she possibly think this was a good idea in the current American climate? I'm very far from a woke party pooper looking for things to find 'offensive' but...handdrummer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 4:14 pmWas she teaching Native American math?Lost wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 12:34 pm In a time when anything can be deemed offensive, teachers need to be particularly mindful when discussing topics to students.

Recent news says the lady has been suspended pending an investigation. Can't see the investigation taking long to be honest.dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 11:29 pmHow could she think it was a good idea in any climate??Regardless of anything else she's making a complete idiot of herself - how can she possibly expect her students to have any respect for her after that performance? It's one thing to be innovative in your approach and try to make education entertaining, but this is just a whole different level of lunacy. I assume she's at least been sacked, if not prosecuted or certified...
Definitely a few fries short of a happy meal that one.

OOPS!
Terrifying moment truck dangles from a 100 metre cliff in China
A cargo truck dangled from a 100 metre cliff earlier this week after the driver's navigation system took him along a narrow mountain road in northern China.
The nerve-wracking incident happened in Shanxi province's Changzhi City on January 1.
The truck driver was reportedly following his GPS, which instructed him to take the narrow mountainside road.
However, when he found that the lorry was too wide to pass through the path he reportedly tried reversing and crashed through the flimsy guardrails.
The man amazingly managed to flee from the truck's cabin as it teetered just over 100m above the ground from the craggy cliff.
Terrifying footage shows the lorry barely staying on the road, with its right side hanging on the cliff's edge.
"This highway has a restriction where the maximum width of any vehicles should not exceed 6.8 metres," Mr. Wu, a motorist driving behind the truck, said.
