Thanks Pete - always good info! :thumb:

Personally I think Aus are looking at a Bonus Point Win and the Boks putting more misery on the "Blackness"..... But who knows, the AB's will be pissed off, as will the Pumas!! :thumb:

Oh, my Gypsy-like predictions strike again!! Mother of God!!

Boks vs the Blackness: -

Not the result I expected (obviously) and to be perfectly honest, not the one I wanted. Would be nice to see the AB's taken down a peg for a little while yet.

I don't think there were many who didn't expect the AB's to fire back, but...

Incredible turnaround. NZ fronted up big style against the SA forwards and their backline did the business... And how. Tactics-wise, NZ won this one. Why in God's name didn't SA select Malcolm Marx to start? Complete turnaround (from last week) at the breakdown before Marx came on on the 30 minute mark (with SA 15 - 0 up). SA were chasing and subs used way too early - whilst they came back, NZ were able to use far fresher legs going into the final stages - taking a convincing win.

Last week, the "Box Kick" worked for SA as NZ simply couldn't cope - this week, NZ had each and every one covered, yet SA continued blindly to use it..... Why

Refereeing - well, Luke Pearce (despite being English  :neener: ) is a class ref and had a good game yet again - BUT, have to say there were a couple of tight calls against SA and NZ were VERY lucky not to have had 2 Yellow Cards. A change in the result, I doubt it.

Pumas vs Aus: -

Well, the Green and Golds got handed their collective arses today, make no mistake......

Yes, Australia were missing some experienced players, but I honestly thought that their replacements were more than capable........ Wrong on that score and wrong on the belief Australia could simply turn up.

Australia were beaten in every facet of the game. Huge hand to the Argentinian forwards who were absolutely immense.... and well, the Argentinian backline who were equally immense!!

[EDIT] There was a huge hit on +/- 56 mins and I'll have to see if I can find on Youtube et al. when the match/highlights get posted. Would love to see that one again.....

Many will say Australia were simply dire (well, they weren't good), but you cannot take ANYTHING away from the Pumas who were excellent. Quite frankly, I'm looking forward to their clashes with NZ, not to mention SA! :thumb:

Refereeing - some dodgy decisions quite frankly, a Pumas try that wasn't etc...... But hardly made a difference did it?!!

Bring on Round 3!!

:D

We should have a "News of the Weird" section in here.

Toulouse player gets eight-game ban for placing 'hand between buttocks' of opponent (Rugby League)

https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-league/62568838

Toulouse Olympique's Corey Norman has been banned for eight Super League matches after he "intentionally placed a hand between the buttocks of an opposing player".

The incident involving Oliver Holmes took place in the French side's loss to Warrington on Thursday.

A tribunal found Australian Norman, 31, guilty of a Grade F charge of Other Contrary Behaviour.

The half-back will miss the rest of the season for bottom side Toulouse.

The French club are four points from safety at the foot of the Super League table with six games left to play.

Norman, who came out of retirement to join Toulouse for their 2022 Super League campaign after an 11-year career in the NRL, had pleaded not guilty.

But the three-person tribunal was "entirely satisfied" that he had "intentionally placed a hand between the buttocks of an opposing player".

An excerpt of the ruling, published on the Rugby Football League's website, read: "The footage of the incident shows a deliberate movement of Corey Norman's left arm and hand over the top of Oliver Holmes and on to his buttocks.

"At no point does the footage show a grabbing of the shorts to push Oliver Holmes down as described by Corey Norman.

"The footage shows a deliberate placing of Corey Norman's hands and fingers on the buttocks and coupled with the immediate complaint from Holmes, the reaction of his team-mate Danny Walker and the statement of Holmes to which we have measured regard, we are entirely satisfied that this was an intentional placing of a hand between the buttocks of the opposing player and we find the charge proved."

Norman was also fined £500.

^ Well, he may be Australian, but rugby in France is quite something..... I have the bumps and bruises, though thankfully not to the buttocks. :D

Makes me laugh that Toulouse are "bottom of the league" - proper faux pas!! :D :thumb:

Indeed, screw the WC, fire everyone including any players over 32. It's total and complete rebuild time now. The NZ Press is going to be burning tomorrow. Those folks are the most vocal and impatient in all of rugby. I wouldn't be surprised if there were street demonstrations. :banghead:

Couldn't get to see the games unfortunately - the kind people of Aneurin Bevan extracting tubes and providing injections. Simply no consideration for sport lovers...... :banghead:

Have seen the results and am hoping to find some repeats/highlights now that I have escaped the clutches of the NHS!!

Didn't exactly get the predictions right, but just put it down to cr@p medication!! Seems I have the same problem with F1

One thing I did see however, was Fake Tash Nic "The Leatherman" White poncing around like a Wenyballer to have de Klerc sent to the Bin.... Absolute disgrace. Yes, Faff made contact with the face, but the Australian tw@t made it look like he'd been given a full on smack by a prop..... An embarrassment to rugby.

I think it's extremelygood for the game as a whole to see the All Blacks humbled, particularly at the hands of the newer rugby nations such as Argentina.
