there is mentioned, that too few worker are on job, because too many worker had been fired during shutdown,
the same problem is in germany on security checks with too few staff,
take it easy

We departed Swampy last week arriving at check in 2.5 hours prior to our flight.
1.25 hours in and we started worrying as we still had two lines ahead of us to go with only 3 check in counters open.
Oddly up popped an attendant calling out only our flight number, she pulled us down to a special counter and off we headed to immigration where we were confronted with the longest queue I have seen.
The good lady asked for priority by an attendant who seemed disinterested and sent us back to the end of the line, finally arriving at our flight gate only to find our flight delayed (which seems to be typical for Thai Airways) as other passengers were held up in the chaos.
Last month we had no dramas for a similar flight as the check was fully staffed and only half as many travelers.... go figure!
Complexity is so simply overrated

On the subject of arriving at swampy, what have the queues been like recently for Thai nationals arriving? From some photos I see there is a long Q up the right hand side of the slope, is that Thais? does anyone have a very recent experience on arriving. My wife flies next week to Thailand. I am following in January, and I am tempted to purchase a Priority Pass to avoid a long standing wait, I have bad knees and they will start to hurt in a long Q......GN

Maybe it’s changed over the past month but my (Thai) wife and I arrived on 2nd October and we were both directed to the Thai immigration counter, were first in the queue and processed within 5 minutes!!

Cheers Dannie Boy. As you say, it may have gotten somewhat worse over the last month.
Any views on the Priority Pass idea? Because I will be travelling alone and will not have the luxury of staying with my wife as we pass through immigration.

I don’t know what the cost is, but if it’s within your budget then why not - I’ve used it before when traveling business class and found it fairy quick.

Almost certainly, it will vary hour by hour, day by day - I don’t know what the busy periods are but there are bound to be certain periods that are busiest (early-mid morning being one of them), so if you have a forthcoming planned arrival, mention the time and you might get a more accurate answer.

Interesting photo in The Thaiger this morning. Tourist arrivals from Uzbeckistan.

Maybe.

Hi all

We arrived back last Sunday, deplaning to having luggage less than 25 minutes. The staff even directing people to empty Thai passport only desks. Very easy and quick.

The title of this thread is surely out of date now and doesn't reflect the reality. Maybe an opposite thread is needed.

It's all too cyclical to really make any difference isn't it? The next war threat, disease threat, currency threat, oceans rising threat and it all reverses, then reverses again. Maybe we'll change the title to something binary but keep the same thread.
