I'm not getting any of that after leaving the page open. The only guess I have is if you're on a VPN pointing to another country.

Not likely, as I dont know any VPN's, only VIP's.

It maybe just to show the price in both USD and AUD, but I have never used either currencies.

Hit the link with google chrome and it shows the price in baht (990). Even after leaving it on screen it doesn't change.

TIT I guess! It is not a big problem as it will be paid with Baht when delivered. It is the stupid way that they have written USDB.... then the amount, the samwe with AUDB.... that makes it confusing.

What I have posted is a copy and paste, not what I have written.

They are making it very difficult to get a 326฿ refund. It must have taken me 15 minutes to get past the robots, and when I did, I wished I hadn't. The woman I was talking to was as thick as the proverbial short plank.

I explain that I have a refund due to me, which should come through my Lazada Wallet. When I try to activate my Lazada Wallet, I get this.

Her first response is, "Activate your wallet."

I explain that was the purpose of my call - as a foreigner, I can not activate my wallet. This conversation would have made a great TV show comic sketch.

Well you can imagine, the emoji above was doing a very good impression of me. 45 minutes later, she told me to get off the chat, and somebody (brighter than her I hope) will contact me by e-mail within 2 days.

I am sure this story is to be continued.............................................

They're following in Pay Pall's footsteps it seems.

None of it here is worth the headaches. I put everything into a Thai name account and don't worry about it at all.

I used to order from IHerb and Amazon under my name before, and each time Thai Customs questioned the shipment. Since consigning to the wife or daughter now, not once has there been any attempt to extort.

I don't buy a lot from Lazada, but when I do it is very simple. If they do not provide COD, I wll not order.

They always give enough warning about when the delivery will be made to be able to ensure that I am home.

Likewise, I’ve only ever ordered from Lazada using COD, mainly because I only have a GBP credit card and don’t want to use it for Thai Baht purchases in Thailand. So far I’ve been lucky that I’ve always been able to find a supplier who accepts COD.

I will only use COD also.

Do you actually open everything, inspect it, switch it on, etc. while the delivery driver is there?

I think you're probably right. Maybe I need to start using Mrs BB in future.

Foreign currency transaction fee, right. Any way and all ways to get a bit more. :banghead:

It’s the foreign currency fee plus avoiding the risk of someone using my credit card details for fraudulent purposes.

Cars, houses and everything. Becoming invisible here can be a good thing IMO, as there is absolutely no benefit to being visible to Thai society.

I think you're right Pete. When I first moved here it was a challenge to order things via platforms such as Lazada, and they have been good, so long as the item has been good, Even when it wasn't correct, returns were always simple.

Now I don't know if it was today's little helper being thick, or she was genuinely being obstructive due to new rules. However, I realise I am my own worse enemy. If I order as Mrs BB, if anything goes wrong, life will be soooo much easier,

I'm thinking back to when I ever used a US credit card for a purchase here, and all I come up with is Apple Computer, and the Bangkok Hospital Group for some very big costs associated with cancer operations the wife had to have. Some hotels as well in the past. So far so good, as never been burned.
