So you're happy driving round in winter wondering if you dare put the heater on.The mileage the dealer quoted is unobtainable..
At the moment they do not make a car suitable for me to use. Never yet seen anyone towing a caravan or trailer.
The minimum price is over £30,000 Replacement batteries about £10,000. minimal secondhand value. Next year they will be taxed. Electricity prices are rising and finding a place to charge a car if you do not have a drive or garage is difficult almost impossible. IMO you are living in a dream world at the moment.

I’m not against change and actually look forward to the day when electric cars (or hydrogen?) become a reality, but setting a fixed date for phasing out ICE cars WITHOUT a credible alternative is not the solution. Although pressure should be maintained to try to achieve the phasing out, if the technology doesn’t support it, there needs to be some degree of flexibility, but we’re then back to the “saving face vs saving the planet conundrum”!!

Well it's -8C here at the moment and I'm going to work by bus and a half hour walk this morning.

Thus proving the point that at this moment electric cars are a waste of time. Until they improve the batteries they are not suitable for many people.

Toyota has put the brakes on their EV development, in that it's not going to go so fast and so all inclusive as they had originally planned. If I see the article again I'll post here.

That’s strange - according to this recent article they seem to be wanting to accelerate their EV investments?

The big chief came out, Mr Toyoda, and made the statement. I'll find it again later on.

Here's what I read. If I'm mistaken, I'll read again and retract later. Christmas eve activities going on! Merry Christmas all!

I think it’s more a case of keeping their options open, rather than a single strategy like Tesla which is 100% EV!!

All that says is that he doesn't think they should concentrate on EV's alone, and abandon all other types of vehicle (as some manufacturers are apparently planning on doing).

It doesn't say anything about scaling back their EV development plans. It says how how much they're planning to spend, but without mentioning if that's an increase or decrease on previous plans.

£61595 only does 252 miles impractical before you search for a place to charge it then wait for hours for it to charge. Why do you want super car, performance nearly all roads have speed limits far below speed a super can do.
Electric cars could be useful for short journeys around town if you have a drive or a garage you can park it on to charge.
Finally 252 miles that is on the flat at a speed that does not use a lot of battery drive it at super car speed you would probably get 50 to 60 miles, this car is a total waste of time and money. :banghead:
