Yep, as I keep saying, the infrastructure is simply not there in the UK. Added to the cost of the vehicles themselves and lack of range, purchasing an EV is just not an option (for me anyway).

That said, they can be fun to drive - I've actually got a Test Drive of a Tesla Model Y this coming weekend.....

Thais seem to be buying EVs in some numbers, until about a year ago I'd hardly seen one in Thailand and on my recent visit, I was seeing them everywhere.
If you include those Havel plug in hybrids, I would say that a significant portion of new cars are now electric.

Extracting fossil fuels does huge amounts of environmental damage but nobody has ever seemed to care too much about that.

Extracting fossil fuels does huge amounts of environmental damage but nobody has ever seemed to care too much about that.

But that doesn’t mean we should simply ignore the problems associated with EV’s and with the required expansion it will get much worse.

Had my Test Drive (well a friend drove) 0f the Tesla Model Y - hugely impressed, I have to say. Prices have come down, but unfortunately I'll stick with my earlier comments regarding infrastructure.

That said, I've been given a new insight into things - 8 minutes charge to 80% possible, far cheaper installation of chargers at home (+/- £600) and things truly are pushing forward with regards to battery life and range (weight being a huge concern).

I'm still some time off yet, but WOW. My friend who is a serious "Petrol Head" has been converted quite frankly. Whilst he has the same feelings as myself with regards to range, price etc., he was also hugely impressed with the Model Y - his wife more so with the Model 3, which compares with a C Class Merc in size.
