Local clinics, a biohazard?
Local clinics, a biohazard?
Had to take the littluns to Dr Samet's clinic yesterday as mum was paranoid, one had a high temperature and the other needed a vaccination.
As usual there were a good 50 people in there with twice as many sick kids. Now this place is pretty small and although Thais generally are hypochondriacs some of them looked pretty poorly. Every time I've returned from such a venture, which usually involves a long wait, I've felt rough myself such as today when it feels like a siplor has driven over me.
Such a confined space with so many sick kids must be a haven for nasties, often find that the kids are worse after a visit there despite the magic bag of varied potions we're issued on the way out.

This is great for us oldies but Dr Samet is especially good with kids ... which is why half of Hua Hin is always in there!richard wrote:POLLYCLINIC EVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't really fault the Doc, they just need a quarantined airlock!

The whole family have been going to Sumets' Clinic for many years.
He is a Paediatrician as well as a damn good GP - which is why his place gets packed.
The best solution is go early - around 7.30am
The guy works 6 days a week every week and is a gem.
BTW - I have no vested interested in promoting his services suffice to say you get good treatment and you dont get ripped off.
More than can be said for the Polyclinic and/or San Paolo

I must have looked like a tourist then!
I must say, I've only ever gone to the polyclinic or San Paolo when Sumet was not available - rare.
At the polyclinic, the teatment was OK but expensive (When compared to Sumet)
San Paolo got a simple ear infection picked up by my eldest son, completely wrong. Wrong treatment and 4 x the price! Subsequently put right by Sumet.
As you say - each to their own
