whats the best thing recent development has brought to HH
whats the best thing recent development has brought to HH
I'm sure there must be some plus points from the recent development,
sad it seems i think teh new tesco was a great plus for HH
anyone else think of anything good dropped out of the onslaught of development over teh last few years?

It's an interesting question, but the answer will depend on whose perspective you are looking from. Certainly the Market Village complex has added something from a consumers point of view, but whether the owners of the other retail outlets think it's a good thing would be debatable. Golfers would no doubt cite the improvements to existing courses and the opening of new ones as major advances. Probably on a practical level the opening (and now move and expansion) of the immigration office has been the best development from the farang point of view. One thing that is apparently in the pipeline, according to Hua Hin Today, is for the main railway crossing in the middle of town to be improved, which if done correctly will be a massive plus.
What's "an imported Thai worker"?
Seriously, though. The town has grown at an almost alarming rate. It's a lot more cosmoplitan now and that's a definite plus point from my point of view.
Unfortunately, the local infrastructure hasn't kept up and there are the usual problems of flooding, too much traffic, no decent schools, unreliabe internet etc etc ad nauseam.
Mind you, I didn't leave central London 9 years ago, thinking that "life would either be easy or perfect". Where there's a will, there's a way.
Must have been looking at that sun too long today!!

After reading one of the replies it sounds as if immigration has been moved. Have they moved the immigration office or is it still in the police station? If moved where is it located? I have to make my 90 day address report this month and really hate thinking I know where something is and then find out I'm wrong and have to go look for it.

Immigration Office
Yes the new Immigration office is located out at the very end of soi 102, with arrowed signs showing the way. The road conditions are, well a 4x4 would not be a bad idea, but to save wear and tear on your own car, get a taxi bike to take you, it might be better.
One good thing, I have heard, they will improve road conditions, after the rainy season, of course how many times have we all heard that, in other words it will be started and finished in Thai Time, and no sooner.
For right now, it is a real trek to get there!
Good Luck -
