I rub my hands togeather every time I hear about the UK housing market going up as my London property is my ticket to retiring when i'm 55, in 10 years time. Meanwhile i'll just let my renters pay the mortgage.... :D

Hi

Vibrant in the South, this is the norm, slow in the North and Wale's.

Historically House price's double every 10 year's.

If you chart Property or Land price's over a Morgage Term (25 to 40yrs) they increase significantly.

house prices

will this continue over the next 10 years though? i doubt that very much. the demand for housing will slow down & the current housing market is totally over inflated, so somethings got to give.we are bound to get an economic slowdown & probable recession during the next 10 years.maybe sooner rather than later.

rzr,
You are wrong. Have a look at the history over the last 100 years.
Property prices go up. NOT down.
You only live once.

houses

but everything reaches a peak, people can't afford to buy a house now in the uk. i don't think things will be as bad as the negative equity of the 80's & early 90's. one or two more rate rises (which are expected) will create a lot of problems for homeowners that are already at their financial limit.
god knows what things will be like in 2 years never mind 10 with the influx of cheap labour flooding into the uk.everything is rising in cost but wages are most definately not!

hello

Anyone that is not in the House Market will regret it. Doubt they would get on the ladder now unless they have a very good job or inheritance.
