Government buses to/from Swampy airport.
Did anyone else see the report this week that the Transport Co. (Baw Kor Saw) are gonna start running 'airport bus services' by the end of the year..
...including Swampy to Hua Hin.
Now the last coupla times I've used the usual HH/Swampy bus service their coaches are getting a bit tattered inside now..the seats do not recline, many
fixed in a very upright position..The service is good, but the ride is not. Let's see if 2 services will make it easier for us all..?
(Maybe the Transport Co will run ealier/later buses..?)

Didn't the company just announce an investment in new electric buses?usual suspect wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 11:59 amNow the last coupla times I've used the usual HH/Swampy bus service their coaches are getting a bit tattered inside now..the seats do not recline, many fixed in a very upright position..The service is good, but the ride is not

Better they ran a few to Don Mueang instead. We already have a slow bus to Suvarnabhumi service.

When it comes to public transport, the more links you have the better it is and the more options you have if anything goes wrong.

I agree, but lets see if it happens? I assume they will use the soi96 bus garage if it does ever start.

Whilst I agree, the more links/options the better, but why totally ignore Don Mueang Airport?
Last year 26,980,428 passengers went through Don Mueang as opposed to 51,700,000 who went through Suvarnabhumi.
I'm not saying they need as frequent a bus service as Suvarnabhumi, but if they are adding more buses, why not serve both airports? It's not as it they're going to add domestic air services to Hua Hin anytime soon, just the perpetual promise.

But if you oversupply any product, something usually ends up going bust!!

I'm sorry, but why do you think Don Meuang is being ignored? The Bangkok Post article linked to by PeteC says Suvannaphumi, Don Meuang and Phuket.Big Boy wrote:Whilst I agree, the more links/options the better, but why totally ignore Don Mueang Airport?

The thread title.
If it includes Don Mueang, fantastic. It could say me a few Baht.

Yes, but the Suvarnabhumi bus says allow 5 hours, and another hour to Don Mueang where you have to arrive 2 hours before your flight. If everything runs like clockwork, that is 8 hours before you board your flight. It sort of negates any value in domestic flights.

And why Phuket? There is already a Smartbus service for 100 baht.
