Just to actually get back to the subject of this "Round Ball Game", I'm hardly knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the sport and for little reason other than a great Welsh Striker (Ian Rush), I "supported" (in the loosest sense of the word) Liverpool - although it could also have been to piss my eldest brother off who was an avid supporter of Leeds back in the day..... Who knows the beginnings!
Anywho, correct me if I'm wrong. There are 20 Teams in the Premier League and therefore 38 matches - 11 of which have now been played. Why are Man City (5 points behind) or Arsenal/Chelsea (9 points behind... as are Forrest & Brighton) already being (almost) written off?
Pretty sure there's also going to be the whole "Whoever's winning at Christmas.." malarkey as well.

Whilst I agree that it’s far too early in the season to be writing so many of the teams off, this article is all about the reasons why most of them don’t stand much of a chance of catching Liverpool. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... j0e5gpdwzo

After reflection I'm beginning to feel a little sad for him. One moment of really (really, really) bad judgement.
It's a strange one. Do we know when the video was made. I read the other guy is a cricketer. Does anyone know him?
I am willing to bet that other refs will talk in a similar nature with people they know and trust, but never, I would have thought, in front of a camera.
I don't sympathise at all. From what was said (talking about Covid in the past) I think it must have been made post-Covid.
And finally, this is not a couple of mates chatting in the pub, it looks very much like an organised interview. Why in God's name would you agree to that sort of Q&A session in the first place, then to it being filmed, and then expect it to go no further? Unbelievable!
This was not un unguarded moment of bad judgement, it was a few minutes of remarkable stupidity. He deserves everything that will be thrown at him, and I'll be astonished if he ever referees again at any level. No sympathy from me, and I doubt he'll get any from his (ex-) colleagues.
Assuming that what we’ve seen is as it is, then totally agree, it’s just that it appears to be so utterly ridiculous that he’d ever be so stupid to be filmed saying it - we used to be able to say “The camera doesn’t lie”, whereas nowadays we know it can be made to look that way!! Interesting few days to see how this pans out.

Pinch me someone, I think I must be dreaming! Man City 0-4 Spurs. I'm almost weeping with joy!
If we can just play like that against teams like Ipswich, Palace, etc. we'll easily be in the top 4.
