caller wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 12:38 pm It really was a very strange game! Despite all the advances in technology surrounding the game, you can still get a numpty footballer entering the pitch wearing the wrong studs. I mean, how basic is that? And it cost us not one, but two goals. In the first 10 minutes. Then he changed his boots. Brain dead.

But as we all now know, that's as good as it got for Spurs. Chelsea thereafter looked the better, balanced team, with players, basically better than their spud equivalents, bar one or two.

The tactical tweak at half time, led at one stage, to Chelsea having more than 80% of possession, and unlike other teams, we have several players who can take advantage of that and Spurs went into panic mode and we went into a deserved 4-2 lead. Before further less astute changes from the same mastermind that orchestrated the 2nd half charge, led to huge confusion in the Chelsea ranks and the spuds scored a late consolation as a consequence.

In hindsight, it was all in Chelseas power to win or lose that game, not the Spuds.
Disagree.

You won due to two ridiculously retarded penalties, couple of missed sitters and Tottenham's 'Chelsea Curse'. :thumb:

Our next two games are home to United in the league cup quarter-final Thursday. Then 'Pool at home on Sunday.

Be nice if we hold on to win this game. Go into Thursday confident.

And that was Martins last game in charge of Southampton. He only has himself to blame, kept putting the same team out and playing the same way and being exposed in game after game. No point in having beliefs about how the game should be played if your players can't do it at this level.

Two managers gone in one day.

Just another premiership day.

The United game could have been devastating for Amorim. Leaving out Rashford and Garnacho from the squad entirely, playing a city team who'd lost 7 in their last 10 (one win)...

Two late goals in two minutes changed the script from disasterclass to masterclass. United, and Amorin, are now on top of the world. First manager to win his first Manchester Derby since Fergie.

Funny old game football. 2 minutes of a game has shifted the mood entirely for United.

It was a pretty even game that could have gone either way, but as the saying goes, you win some and you lose some!!

Kyle Walker is one of the more unlikeable characters in football. Arrogant. Secret children with mistresses. Left spurs for city.

But how intellectually disabled does one need to be to do this knowing there's VAR now? It was embarrassing before with just replays, occasionally you'd 'win' a red, but embarrassing. With VAR now you're literally just being an idiot.

Enjoyed Keane's commentary:

Micha Richards: He's better than that.

Roy Keane: Is he? I'm not so sure.

🤣

I noticed both sides had players feigning injury trying to get an opponent booked/sent off - I really despise the players doing this!!

"feigning injury...", in Wendyball?!! Surely you jest DB?!!

Penalties should be a damn sight more severe for these overpaid, "Mummy Coddled", Prima Dona Pr*cks - they have zero respect for the sport, other players, the authorities or those (the fans) who ultimately put them where they are.

Oh, the video will be an embarrassment and a source of ridicule for some time, a "Giggle View" on X - BUT the guy however should be handed a significant ban and fine. The embarrassment will be short-lived as this act is typical of the sport and will soon be forgotten..... A sad state of affairs.

Come on you Spurs - lol!

The only home win so far has been Villa v City in the first game yesterday. Can the spuds buck the trend?

I hope so.

Is that the same Crystal Ball that gave you a 6th Round KO by Usyk? Admittedly though, that prediction looks to have been a damn sight closer to reality! :D :duck:

Did I say 4-3?

Autocorrect failed me there, I meant 5-4.

It appears that none of the spuds fans on here can be bothered to watch their team lose again?

I haven't really watched them this season and it's all a bit odd. There's no real cohesion, like the basics of a unit of players moving up and down the pitch together, with a recognised defence, midfield and attack. Instead, there seems a randon group of blokes, with huge gaps between them, strolling around with no recognisable pattern or plan, apart from the fact they all wear the same shirts and sometimes they do get quite close to each other and even manage to string a few passes together. Then they lose possession and they all panic. Their only hope is that Liverpool have been makimg hard work of what shold be a goal fest! Oh, they just got a 4th! They could easily double that.
