All stand for the Saudi National anthem. When there's not a single Saudi athlete competing at the event.

It's in Saudi to be fair - and why is "God Save Our King" played before the Ukranian Anthem when Fury doesn't hold a Title (if we're going to talk Anthems).

Now hush up and watch the fight....

Well, mid-way through the 6th I would have had Fury just ahead on points, but Usyk has drawn it level - the turning point perhaps...

The level of fitness from a 36 year old and 37 year old. 6"3 and 6"9 respectively. Doing 12 rounds at the highest level. Insane. Anyone that's tried throwing punches over a couple rounds for fitness will know just how damn tough that is.

Usyk will take this on points. Just.

No doubt and huge respect to both for putting on a hell of a fight!

I make no secret of my dislike of Fury and his clan, but in all fairness he did himself proud - without the BS that he usually surrounds himself with!

To me, this was actually a closer fight than the first which makes a mockery of that "Split Decision" last time around. Fury took things a damned sight more seriously this time around and used his jab to good effect - and certainly put several decent shots in. As mentioned above, I would have had him slightly ahead going into the 6th Round, but it was all change after that IMHO. Usyk is quite frankly the complete "Boxer" (rather than Fighter) - speed, agility and a "Boxing Brain", which he used to great effect. Huge respect to Fury for still putting in the shots at the death, but Usyk's movement and speed ultimately trumped size and reach - how in God's name Usyk landed more jabs on a man with a reach of 8" more is quite something (though official stats not available)!

Great, great fight, but it must now be the end for Fury - unless he still wants another multi million Dollar payday (which I'm sure he could get). As for Usyk, give Dubois a shot and then retire regardless of the result - though I'm pretty sure Usyk will retire undefeated.... AND deservedly so. :thumb:

As for tonight's bout - hats off to both, truly..

Written at 3pm today before I've watched the big fight or read this thread, I didn't want to see any comments about it here.

I forgot to set my alarm last night (as happens so often nowadays) , so am watching the full card since 9.30 this morning on DAZN catchup. You'll read about the main fight everywhere, so I'll tell boxing fans about the undercard instead:

Featherweight: Young Saudi Alakel v. veteran serial loser Joseph Ocampo who looked like he though he was being paid as a sparring partner. Only two pro fights so far now but Alakel definitely looks like someone to watch although hard to judge from this fight. I didn't see his first pro fight but they say he has stepped up a lot today, learning. Ocampo takes a punch like no-one else so of course it went the full six rounds.

Heavyweight: Novytskyi (Ukraine) undefeated intercontinental WBC champion v. the patchy but tough Ramirez (Mexico). Novy tall, quick and unbeaten, and the Mexican who has only lost once and never KOd. Ramirez grew into the fight after a few rounds and Novy slackened off, I found the rounds harder to score. Novy came alive again in the last round and Ramirez tired. Unanimous win but a bit unconvincing by Novytskyi. Scoring was a bit off, judges didn't scores for Ramirez's coming forward I think, like in many US-based fights.

Light heavyweight: Lapin (Ukraine) v. Colin (France) fighting for IBF and WBA titles (not world titles though). Both unbeaten before last night, so a good test for both fighters. A long range fight, Colin stepping up a huge grade from previous opponents and tried, coming forward to the end. Lapin tall and rangy although a bit stiff and didn't put any real pressure on, looks good for the future. Easy Lapin points win, all rounds.

Super featherweight: McGrail (England, current WBA intl. champion) v. unbeaten Edwards (Wales, current intercont champion, and a very late replacement in this fight). All British judge panel. Fast and feisty fight as you'd expect, head clash and McGrail cut eye over in the 3rd, lot of blood but not very bad however it opened again in the 4th and he got a bit urgent for a while but calmed down again in the 5th. Well matched fight, both fighters loved it as did I. McGregor nicked it I thought, judges scored 96-95, 96-94, 96-94.

Vacant WBC featherweight intl. title: Lowe (England ) v. McGregor (Scotland). Big shots landing all the time, lots of punishing body work, from both boxers, clever tactical boxing but aggressive. McGregor warned for often leading with the head (well he's Scottish), no point deduction, Lowe cut over both eyes (not all from head grinding )but he's at war and loving it, unfortunately not fighting his best fight, coming on too much. Both gumshields came out and both wanted to fight on, they just want to scrap. McGregor wobbly in the 9th after so much body work but another lost Lowe gumsheld (there were many during the fight) saved him. Lowe furious as he needs a stoppage now and he loses the fight.

Heavyweight, vacant WBA intercont. title : Fisher (England) v. Allen (England). Fisher 12 fights and wins, all but one by KO. Allen a lot more fights but some losses, bit of a legend but no pro tltles ever. Allen soaked up punches for half the fight, waiting for Fisher to tire after throwing so much. Clear tactic. Fisher down in round 5 and all over the place with two minutes to go but stayed up. Touched gloves at the start and end of each round after 6, friends who have known each other a long time, both exhausted now. Brutal fight, Allen loses on split decision. I really can't believe that, it was a clear win for Allen, even the fight stats show it.

Super welterweight WBC eliminator: Bohachuk (Ukraine) v. Davis (England, only had two weeks' notice of this fight). Was always going to be a mismatch. Davis down to a big left hook in the second after having a very good first round and looking good for two minutes, David eye cut and swelling. Round 4 well contested but Davis starts planting his feet and getting caught in a brawl, the Ukrainian doesn't stop coming on, suffocating his opponent. Davis' corner stopped the fight at the end of the 6th, he was just taking too much punishment and shook his head at his corner. It was absolutely sensible of him and brave of him to take fight on in the first place. Bohachuk should get his world title shot in 2025 maybe, looks scary and relentless

Heavyweight WBO and WBA non-world title fight: Itauma (England, 19 years old, before this fight current undefeated WBO intercont. champion and very highly rated for the future) v. McKean (Australia). McKean down twice and loses by technical KO in the first round. Itauma now has two belts, please god they don't push Itauma too fast.

End of transmission.

Of course there was. I presume only real boxing fans watch the undercard.
