Shouldn't be too long. I suspect the meeting I witnessed yesterday, was possibly being held by the new incumbents.

I went into Bluport earlier, as I had a few things to get, including from the supermarket, I needn't have bothered! All bar one single line of freezers have been switched and sealed off, and the one remaining line just had what was left from the rest. It faces the fresh meat section, which is empty. There is less shelving, less of everything and I couldn't buy anything I needed - some tin foil, smelly stuff for the bathroom and blueberries. Well they had a few packs of those, but I didn't like the look of them, so I exited without buying anything.

It's been a while now since Gourmet Market were involved and I just hope that whoever is moving in to replace them, does so soon. I have been using TOPS/VM in the meantime.

Did you notice any changes going on with the wine/liquor store?

I didn't, sorry. It wasn't open when I was there.

I went into BluPort today. I asked what was happening with the Gourmet Market and was told they are redesigning it. There is no change of owner and the work will take about 3 months to complete. The wine/liquor store is still open. They sell fresh meat and vegetables but many of the shelves have been closed off or are empty. The restaurant inside is also closed.

This is also what I was told, by several different employees. (I asked several, just in case one was misinformed or just saying what they thought I wanted to hear but they all consistently said the same thing).

Based on what myself and others have been told (including, but not limited to, @HarryVardon) no-one is moving in to replace them, it's just a redesign and remodeling.

3 months to renovate a relatively small space? I don't think so.

But anyway, let's see what happens.

Worth remembering that It was announced a few years back that The Mall Group, the owners of Gourmet Market, had left the partnership they had with Bluport.

Could be what all the staff members have been told to say

I covered that point in a previous post.

I went to Gourmet Market for the first time in a month.

Was pleased to see things weren't as bad as I thought, although about a third was closed/closed off.

I asked the staff what was happening and they gave the same sort of answer to that given to others. They said it would last for 2 months. When I asked what would go in the area at the back they said they didn't know.

I thought BluPort overall was much busier that when I last visited, which is good news!

The rumors are true then!

I presume Big C will have to be good quality in this location or people won't buy!
