I’ve just looked at the player ratings for last night’s game and John Stones was City’s lowest rated player - I’m not contesting his score, but in the past I’ve seen him have some excellent performances (including when playing for England), so not sure whether he’s carrying an injury or some other problem?

Trust me when Everton sold John Stones he wasn't good enough to be a defender for Everton.

City then transformed his game into a defensive midfielder, bringing the ball out transitioning defence to midfield etc and he's very good at it.

Don't confuse footballer and defensive ability. He's a serious weakness in their defence

Well he’s mainly played in defence for England and I thought he’d acquitted himself reasonably well (on most occasions anyway).

I’m sure that City’s problems are much deeper than just one player, it just seems to have caught most people (including Pep) out - having said that they’ll probably now go and upset the form book by giving Liverpool a hiding on Sunday!!

Yes agreed it's not just John Stones at City but he's part of the problem for sure.

He went off injured after only 8 minutes.............................

So not sure why The Colonel berated him if he only had 8 minutes playing time?

If you read my posts I was not specifically referring just to his performance on Tuesday night. Hence also to my comment "as said on here before"

Thought that would be fairly obvious but clearly not

Your quote in full following Wednesdays game against Real Madrid

“Man City go out of the Champions League

As I've said on here before they simply don't have a defence so not much chance against an in form Real Madrid.

John Stones is a good footballer but he's a bang average defender“

That to me implies you were referring to his performance against Madrid, why else would you have mentioned it?

Anyway I don’t really give a toss about It so I’d better keep quiet and concentrate on Tax Liabilities instead!!

"John Stones is a good footballer but he's a bang average defender“

That's clearly a general comment

I did not say" Stones was rubbish last night" or he had a bad game.

You clearly do give a toss or you wouldn't be nitpicking about it

Just a fun factoid.........

The list of teams that Erling Haaland has failed to score against in domestic competitions for Man City:

Plymouth Argyle.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

I'm sure there's quite a few teams he's not scored against over 90mins having played them only once...

The most ridiculously skewed and pathetic stat ever

1. He only played for 30 mins not 90
2. He only played them once, whereas he's played other Prem league teams multiple times so clearly has a greater chance of scoring.

However you keep dreaming on and good luck in division 3 should you get there

Ps can I pick ONE game where he didn't score against us, not even a penalty kick from 12 yards?! No? Thought not

No, the stat is domestic teams in domestic competitions. He has scored against every other team he has played for in domestic competition playing for Manchester City.

Yes, a silly stat, hence I called it a fun factoid, but when the question is asked at your next pub quiz, you will know the answer :D.

Division 3 is almost guaranteed now after last night's result. Sh*t happens.
