The last few posts seem to assume that it will change to Big C Marché or no Marché. Is this definite or is it still assumptions?

Does anyone know the significance of the word "Marche' attachment to the end of 'Big C'. Clearly it means market in French, but does it imply it will be different to a run of the mill Big C?

Bon Marche means good value/good deal/inexpensive

True, but as @derek60 mentioned, on its own it just means 'market'. And this would appear to be an up-market rather than a down-market version of Big C, or as @Bubba1 puts it, a Hi-So Big C.

Here's a link to an ad for the one in Bangkok - it looks a lot like the Gourmet Market did.

I noticed that yesterday and was thinking the same thing. A bigger supermarket with (presumably) more choice of products would be good. With the proviso that their prices for the same items as available elsewhere are competitive.

I popped into Bluport today to claim a lottery prize 0 and there was ni0one there - lol!

I too noticed the empty spaces. Does anyone know where Lab Pharmacy has gone?

I also noticed the coffee shop by the escalators going up / down has gone and that a few of the food stalls - not the food court - have closed. That was always a temporary area, so it seems the new Big C will spread all the way to the foodd court, or they will make the area more 'permanent' in apppearance.

LabPharmacy's new location is on the same floor, about half way along towards Starbucks

It wasn't open when I passed yesterday, but the shelves were in place and staff were inside

That's great, thanks. Way too expensive, but it does hold some stock that the others don't. A last resort for me, but when needs must.

Have you tried the pharmacy in the night market street on the right hand side from the Petchkasem called G Untung? Much cheaper and has a lot of stock also can order for you if they haven't got what you need.

Hi Joelle, Thanks - I do go there, in fact I was there this afternoon.

I mentioned in my post that Lab Pharmacy was a last resort, as sometimes the chatchai pharmacy doesn't have something I need in stock, when that happens, I can usually get from Lab Pharmacy.

Gourmet Market is now nearly all closed (maybe 10% left) so I guess the Big C Marche takeover will be soon

Bluport Hua Hin has just announced that February 28 will be the final day of operation for Gourmet Market. The popular supermarket has been a go-to spot for many for fresh produce and international products.
However, something new is on the way! Big C Marché is expected to take its place, bringing a fresh shopping experience to Bluport.
