And they said we'd never make it.

So what is going on around here and where does it happen? This section is for discussion on local events, festivals, and holidays as well as activities and things to do.

The MIB were out last night handing out papers re the upcoming holiday. Apparently the bars will be closed on Monday and Tuesday only!

Huahinian,

No letter delivered to Lolitas, nor a couple of other bars that I've checked with. According to all our calendars the Buddha days are Sunday and Monday, the Tuesday is the "make-up" public holiday for Sunday.

Still planning for a good night out on Tuesday, hope you can join us.

Excellent

Great food and good company

Mostly Australians (our convict colony), so talk of cricket and rugby was banned (being a Brit)

Thanks Mein host

ps I've been living on the edge for years and have so far survived

pps Pagey, I forgot to wish you a happy Birthday.

Thanks Richard, it was nice to meet you.

For anyone who hasn't been in Lolitas, I hadn't until this week, I think partly because of the closed tinted doors which give it an air of mystique. One expects to open the door and see booths full of big sweaty Farang getting 'serviced'.

This is not the case, it is just a bar, and a large roomy one at that, with a pool table, air con and plenty of seating with friendly staff. Not much different from most of the bars in Bintabaht and surrounding area.

Any 'action' takes place upstairs I am told so there is nothing to stop ladies entering the bar with their friends/husbands and I was introduced to two wives on the party evening who seemed very comfortable with the whole scenario.

So go and have a look, if I was the owner I would open the doors so passing trade can see the spacious bar and pool table to tempt them in.

And no, I do not have a vested interest in the bar.

Cheers Pagey

Sure on an 'open' night women are welcome but if you talked to the boss about normal operations I think you would find he has good reason to not opening the doors for all to see and it's not sleaze related

I often use the bar usually accompanied by friends for a quiet drink in aircon premises and chat with the boss. Never any hassle from the girls unlike 90% of the bars in the area

My Thai wife is quite happy with the situation knowing I'll never stray whilst I'm with friends !!

Bit like Crawford's without the food (Oops)

Meet up again soon I hope

Hi Pagey!

Firstly belated Birthday Greetings!! :thumb:

It was my birthday the same day but sadly Lolitas was just a bit too far away to get too! Pleased to hear you and the gang had a good night there - it's been added to my 'must visit list' when I can get to HH!!

I guess you'll soon be making your way back to Saudi - but with some good memories to take with you!! :D

Hope your business enquiries went well - maybe you will be going ahead - if so here's wishing you Good Luck & Fortune!! :thumb:

Safe & pleasant journeys.....

 bradders
