Extraordinary scenes in Madrid, where in a penalty shoot out Athletico scored a pen only to have VAR chalk it off a few mins later as he double hit it(he slipped on striking the ball).
Never seen that before!

It's happened at least a couple of times in the Premier League, that I've seen. Riyadh Mahrez for Leicester City against Manchester City and Aleksandar Mitrovic for Fulham against Newcastle United, for example.
Mitrovic's penalty ruled out after rare 'double touch' rule against him
Even as a neutral, I have to applaud the performance of Arsenal against Real Madrid on Tuesday, they were sensational and but for a bit more good fortune and the heroics of RM’s goalie Courtois it could easily have been 6 or 7 goals. As for Rice’s two free kick goals - you’d have thought this was what he did all the time, but apparently they were his first ever goals from free kicks and two in one game - sensational.
Last night PSG continued their excellent form against Aston Villa and have a 3-1 advantage coming to Villa Park next week. As much as I’d love to see Villa turn it around, it’ll take a monumental effort to do so!!
Assuming Arsenal and PSG get through, hopefully they can avoid each other in the semis and pave the way for a fantastic final.

An incredible game over two legs by the arse. Beating Real Madrid 5-1 is no mean feat. Surprisingly, I found myself rooting for arse (Blasphemy! I know) but I dislike real madrid on a similar level to arse... and they have Saka in their team who I really like, one of my favourite players. To see him redeem himself from that awful penalty was brilliant for the lad. I hope they beat PSG too...
Then lose to an injury time winner in the final to Barca for some real heartache.

Good to see Arse are living rent free in your head
As an aside the next England meet up will be a bit awkward, Bellingham, a great talent, same as Haaland, but both have proved themselves to be absolute arrogant nasty d*ckheads in recent losses.

I’m not a fan of either team, but Inter Milan and Barcelona served up a feast of entertainment last night - not sure about inters penalty but that apart it was a great game (well the highlights were)!!
Will tonight’s PSG v Arsenal come close, let’s hope so.
Although it wasn’t quite such a good game as the night before, there was plenty of entertainment in the PSG v Arsenal game and Arsenal gave a good account of themselves despite losing 2-1 on the night - once again PSG’s goalie Donnarumma made some incredible saves to keep Arsenal at bay.
Last day of the football season then today. No more football until... well... next week's World Cup qualifiers.
Looking forward to it tonight, not particularly rooting for any team. Though might be nice to see PSG get their first one. The winner gets to play the mighty Tottenham Hotspur in the Uefa Super Cup, August 13th.
