I've only just seen the advert, it could be weeks old.

It was the fact they are calling it 'New' Wonderland - I'm puttin 2 and 2 together, and probably getting 9. I just think with all of the building going on it the video above, it wouldn't make much of a party zone if still going on. Or is the intention to replicate a UK abandoned warehouse rave?

Mind you Soi 94 bar related advertising is rather sparse. We tried to go to Scruffy's for lunch yesterday, and were met with a sign saying they don't open until 4. I thought my fault for not checking first. When I got home later, I thought I'd check out the Scruffy's information on the www. In reality, Hua Hin's newest purpose built bar, has a very minimal footprint on the web that gives very minimal information - certainly nothing that would have prevented my wasted trip.

So, replicating a UK abandoned warehouse rave wasn't too far off

I have heard a rumour that Wonderland 1 will be closing down - does anyone know if this is true?

I very much doubt that due to the new 'anchor' pub at the rear(Stumble Inn) opening soon

OK..The news on the street (via Soi 94 bar owners) is that Wonderland IS gonna be flattened & the 'Stumble Inn' going up on the site.
Linked to this is a big new ownership deal that sees a BIG block of land from 94 along the railway Rd up to & including the Maldives bar complex been bought up by a developer from BKK..All this land was owned (I heard) by the Sakura family ..who had a restaurant many years ago on what is now Wonderland.
What the developer has in store here I do not know..? Please do not shoot me down in flames..This is only what I heard from bar owners.

I've heard something similar and I've also heard it could be the same group which opened Scruffy's Irish Pub on the corner opposite Amara and Pizza Garden.

Yes definitely the same people as Scruffys.
But given the progress at the bar in the back does make me think its not going anywhere soon.
They just put in new PVC doors and aircon being installed.

I'm just wondering who told you Stumble Inn are part of Scruffys group (the Panthera Group)

Was it the Irish Manager from Scruffys itself by chance? That would be conclusive. Your use of the word definitely intrigued me.

Im still trying to get my head around Stumble taking the whole of Wonderland 1. That's a massive space for one bar in Hua Hin and a huge fit out expense. And yes I've been in the one in Sukhumvit Soi 4

Just my opinion from a virtual non-drinker..............

This could be just what Hua Hin needs, some larger bars. IMHO Hua Hin has far too many mini-bars, all offering much of a muchness - most sell the same beer, have access to a pool table, and maybe a dart board. Many serve various grades of lady's. Too much of a muchness, offering very little competition to move from one bar to another. Minimal scope to do anything else.

A couple of larger, purpose built bars would have the scope to improve Hua Hin's bar scene 10 fold. We could start to see something new, instead of beer, pool and women. Bring it on, I say.
