Attenborough and his team have done it again: a new series on iPlayer called Asia, and it's as fascinating as ever. The first episode is Beneath the Waves.
Just watched the first Episode - superb as ever, but having worked, lived and travelled in Asia for many years, this series is going to be quite special for me I think.
Buksida will enjoy all no doubt, but with his experiences of diving and photography, this first episode will have him hooked!

Came across this gem by accident. A must see for F1 fans. I forgot how contentious the 2009 season was, and yes, our favourite poisoned dwarf Christian Horner showing what a he was back then, complete with bad teeth.
Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story
In 2009, competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, the impossible happened. An understaffed, underfinanced and independent team won the World Championship, with a team that cost just £1. Go behind the scenes of this Formula 1 fairytale with the people who were there, on the track, in the garage and the boardroom, giving their own thrilling versions of a miraculous year. Expect exclusive access to the F1 archives, much of it previously unseen - from a year that global sport will never forget, with contributions from British F1 driver Jenson Button and Ross Brawn, who led the team to victory. imdb
A House through Time: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09l64y9
I find this fascinating. A historian looks back at the story of residents over time of a single house.
I've been to Pompeii a couple of times now and never fails to fascinate me.
Pompeii: The New Dig
TV Mini Series
2024
A fascinating insight into the most extensive archaeological excavation in the ancient city of Pompeii for over a generation. With exclusive access to the dig, the show follow a team of archaeologists and historians as they excavate an entire city block, uncovering new buildings, the incredible stories of the people who lived there and what happened to them during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. imdb
One of my favourite documentary series is a 24 Hours in Police Custody . They have a fair few episodes available on the channel 4 app (I've really gotta try hunting the rest down again). New one recently dropped.
If you venture there, I suggest "The Detective and the Surgeon' to begin with. Great episode and not in any way disturbing like some of the others.
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.
Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner - a three-part docuseries following Costner as he retraces the historic 1903 camping trip of President Theodore Roosevelt and naturalist John Muir, highlighting their role in the preservation of America's national parks.
Essential viewing for campers and lovers of the outdoors.
Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson
These days I have next to zero interest in the current state of the USofA but this You Tube vid brought back some happy memories of a time when the draft dodging Trump was an insignificant punk riding on daddy's coat tails. God bless Jim Lovell, Frank Borman and William Anders. True American heroes.
“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.” -George Orwell.
I may have previously mentioned that there is a small corner of my heart that will be forever Prof Alice Roberts. I recently discovered another series from 2018 presented by her (be still my beating heart!) called Britain's Most Historic Towns.
Episode 4 takes us to Tudor Norwich, and at one point Prof R dresses in the costume of the time. As she enters she utters the immortal words "I've kept my knickers on, is that okay?"
Due to be released on May the 8th and certainly one to keep an eye out for - Attenborough's latest at 99 years young!!
Ocean with David Attenborough
"Attenborough explores the planet's undersea habitats, revealing the greatest age of ocean discovery and emphasizing the ocean's vital importance while exposing its problems and highlighting opportunities for marine life recovery."
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things" - Yma o Hyd.
