I don't think I've ever singled out any ethnic group. It is not the colour of their skin that makes them morons.

To be fair, that's not just Thais.
I never said it was just Thais.

I think that I only added the "not just Thais" bit because I started reading today's stream by reading the rant from August 2023. Quite a while ago but it was in the post just prior to today's.

"HHH has a security guard on each floor mornings. His job is obviously to watch the lazy Thais block disabled parking spaces to prevent them having to walk 5 yards further."

In that hospital it is always Thais at fault - at least, I've never seen a non-Thai park badly there. In fact Farang visitors to the car park are quite rare. The security guards are no longer employed there - at least, if they are, they are well hidden.

Walking along the pavement being redone on Phetchkasem Road I see there are multiple ramps by each Soi-side, so could be a lot easier to push a wheelchair/pushchair in the future

An improvement if right. Some of the old kerbsones were 2' above the road. Of course, if they do too good a job, it'll become a haven for motorcyclists.

Unfortunately, my wife has suffered a slight relapse , and we are back using the wheelchair again (nothing too serious, and this should only be a temporary measure).

Usual thing when we got to Market Village this morning. Security Guards were in hiding so I had to block access to the car par whilst I moved the barriers to Disabled Parking. I got back into my car and started reversing into my parking bay. Some arsehole from streetside decided to deposit his trolley in the disabled parking bay :cuss:

Fortunately, there was quite a tailback of traffic waiting to pass me by this stage, and Mr. Arse was also blocked in for much longer than it would have taken him to return the trolley properly, despite being streetside - I made sure of that. I got back out of my car, and made the entire queue wait until I'd parked the trolley in the correct trolley bay, before completing my reversing action. Yes, I can be as much of an arse as the next person if provoked.

2 problems here:
  • The MV policy of blocking Disabled Parking Bays. OK, I'm only transporting somebody disabled i.e. I am able bodied myself. However, if I was disabled, with the Security Guards often in hiding, or sat in the cancer centre having a cigarette, how long is it going to take a disabled person to move that stupid barrier?
  • There are far too many lazy gits, prepared to use a shopping trolley, but not prepared to walk the extra 5 yards to the trolley bay. It is so much easier to use the Disabled Parking Bays to deposit the trolley.
