From where I’m sitting the sky towards Hua Hin looks ominously dark -if it isn’t raining already then I’m sure it will be soon - I suspect it’s heading our way next!!

Just heard via FB that Market Village has suffered flooding. Anyone on the ground know more?

I was in Patts over the weekend and it was a tad wet with power cuts on Saturday night - not that we noticed. Now in Bkk, equally wet and horrible!

Your way is Cha Am - miles away and very rarely like Hua Hin

Yes of course, but I was looking in the direction of Hua Hin and the sky as far as I could see was very dark - as it happened, we got virtually no rain so maybe it was the same for all of us?

Apparently the roof was leaking into one of the computer shops on the top floor during the deluge on Saturday night but the mall was open as normal on Sunday so it couldn't have been too serious.

Two people electrocuted and killed during heavy rain on Soi 94 in Hua Hin

Two people have died after being electrocuted during heavy rainfall on Soi 94 in Hua Hin on Saturday evening.

The incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. on 10 May in front of the Dusit Land 10 housing development, according to Hua Hin Police.

Investigating officers said the victims had been riding a motorcycle when they encountered flooding in the area due to the ongoing downpour. In an attempt to avoid a section of road that was heavily inundated, the motorcycle came into contact with a low-hanging electrical wire, causing the vehicle to fall.

Witnesses reported hearing one of the victims cry out that they had been electrocuted. Members of the public rushed to assist and transported both individuals to Hua Hin Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Here is the 1st installment of the 2025 Southwest Monsoon map. It tracks the progress and the withdrawal as the months go by. RED line is the normal date of onset, and the BLUE line is the actual date of onset.

You can check anytime at the below link.

Not sure how much we had today - I’d estimate about 5mm although yesterday was almost rain free. We live quite close to some fairly steep hills that seems to draw the clouds in.
