What a hoot those trips must be for the younger fans, followed by a monumental hangover! :thumb:
I've just been watching on BBC - the ferry trip alone was some 33 hours!! A ferry load of Wendyball supporters, cheap beer, 33 hours... What could possibly go wrong!

That said, those I saw interviewed were all compos mentos and looking forward to the event. As an aside, some ridiculous prices quoted for hotels/B&B...

Well today's the day. I'm really not ready to be hurt again. It's a trophy and Champion's League football... or a 17th place laughing stock and the continued butt of all trophy jokes.

For both teams it’s been a season to forget although I have to admit that Spurs have just about managed to outdo Utd and if they don’t win tonight it must rank as their worst season for decades!!

I'm actually hoping ManU will lose and perhaps that will be the trigger to get rid of Ruben and get Ole back! I think the mistake of the century that they ever let him go as it's been disaster after disaster since.

I'd guess, as we're only a place above relegation, it'd be the worst since we were actually relegated in the 76/77 season... so almost half a century.

Ole wasn't good enough for the Utd fans. A Utd fan once told me that Utd fans get what Utd fans want.

Personally, I think they want a lot better than any manager post Fergie, and as for the players.................

Problem is, very few managers will turn things around in the time Utd fans want to give them, so they will continue wanting.

Although Chelsea seem at last to be turning it around after going through managers quicker than bargirls go through customers - so it can be done if you get the right manager!!

On the topic of the Final, there was a bit on the BBC News this morning regarding the extortionate price increases for accommodation and travel. Whether true or not, one guy was explaining his hotel room last night was +/- £80 for the night and tonight's price was +/- £2,700!!

Similarly, airfares have increased dramatically in price - some supporters saying they had forked out thousands of pounds to get there and simply have a couple of nights in a basic hostel. Re-sale tickets are also going for an absolute fortune..... You've got to be wealthy and dedicated or downright stupid to pay those kind of prices....

Personally I'd like to see Manure lose, but that would mean missing out on the opportunity to extract the urine from the likes of Lost and DM...

I dint think many Chelsea fans believe Maresca is the right manager and he hasn't really achieved more than Poch last season, with a better squad. Although if we do qualify for the Champions League, that's obviously better that what we qualified for last season. The problem being that the team hasn't really kicked on in the way it was expected, especially after our excellent start.

In fairness, there are other issues behind the scenes that affect the team. The sheer volume of players purchased, the way some favourites were deemed expendable, such as Gallagher, Chilwell and Chalobah, who was loaned out to Palace, then brought back, with talk being that he is now deemed expendable again. It's madness.

On saying that, the best goalie at the club, Petrovic, who was inexplcably loaned out to Strasburg last season, and ended up being voted player of the year at Strasburg, should be returning, and we have a couple of young Brazilians heading back after loan periods, where one was also named his clubs player of the year. They should be replacing the dross the co-sporting directors keep bringing in and where one, if not both should go.
Talk is cheap

Happens at every big event everywhere. Airbnb and the like cancel pre bookings and triple/quadruple their prices. Hotels too. Because they know they can. :banghead:

^ Fair comment, but I thought price increases in this instance were beyond extreme.... After all, it's only a match between P16 and P17 of the EPL!! :neener:

2 well supported teams. League positions don't really matter - tonight is all about bragging rights, and the Spanish will fleece the lot of them.
