Article in UK Daily Mail

Post by Houdi »

You can expect lots if comments from people back home about this article in todays UK Daily Mail.

It's a long read but doesn't paint Hua Hin in a very good light.

Here is the headline

The town where ANY older man can find a young female lover... making it one of the world's biggest expat magnets. FRED KELLY reveals the uncomfortable truth

A little bit has been exposed (if you click the X link). It seems to be having a dig at Soi 80 in particular, although if the cap fits..................
With names like Oops, Beavers and Cheeky Monkey, it’s clear the dive bars along Soi 80 in the coastal city of Hua Hin offer more than just a cheap drink. Then again, with dozens of scantily clad women advertising their wares from mid-morning to the early hours, this notoriously seedy strip hardly prizes subtlety. And yet, the clients here aren’t just looking for sex – they’re longing for love.

Hua Hin now boasts one of the fastest growing expat communities anywhere in the world, the vast majority of whom are elderly single men hoping for a second shot at happiness. Only this time with girls as young as their granddaughters.

Thank you Pagey.

As I said, nothing new, but a little interesting when you realise you actually know some of the interviewees

One question though, where are all of these ฿60M (£1.36M) houses the rich Farang are buying in Hua Hin? Even the white elephant on Soi 112 wasn't that expensive.

From what I've been told, it originates in Season 3, and was part of the recent Graeme Davidson discussion.
