This is how they should have gone about it in the first place. The stops and the problems with underground issues and the previous contractor have caused the issues. If they continue every day working as now I for myself, couldn't care less that it has to become worse before better. They need to put in the proper drainage which they hadn't completed from Atmosphere and up to Initial Hotel, and the old surface must be removed, leveled and made ready for concrete I believe. At last, they are at least doing a proper job with proper machinery, and not those toy equipments the first contractor had.

Drove through yesterday evening, was quite bad.

Read on Hua Hin Today :

🚧 𝗦𝗼𝗶 𝟵𝟰 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿

Road construction work on Soi 94 in central Hua Hin is now expected to be completed by the end of October, according to local officials said on Monday.

The resurfacing project, which covers a 500-metre stretch of the road, includes the installation of reinforced concrete and upgraded drainage systems. The project began on 22 July 2024 and was originally scheduled to be completed in February this year.

However, work was halted due to issues involving underground utilities and soil subsidence. These complications required a revision of the original construction plans, resulting in a significant delay.

On 14 July 2025, Mr. Jirawat Phrammanee, Municipal Clerk and Chairman of the Contract Inspection Committee, visited the site to inspect progress on behalf of the Mayor of Hua Hin City Municipality. He was joined by Ms. Nonglak Phadungthot, a member of the municipal council, along with Mr. Kalayut Kuyukham, Director of the Engineering Office, site engineers and the contractor.

During the inspection, officials confirmed that the first section of the road is currently undergoing surface adjustments, while drainage manholes are being installed in the second section.

Hua Hin City Municipality has acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the extended timeline and offered apologies to local residents and businesses affected by the construction.

Once completed, the upgraded road and improved drainage are expected to reduce flooding and improve traffic flow in the area.
Hmm. 'End of October'. I note it doesn't say in which year . . .

Stop Press! Concrete laid on Soi 94. From the 7/11 west to about half way to the cross roads by the 'Irish' pub. LH side only, but, wow, what a sight!

Hope the layer of concrete (or the base of soft sand underneath) can handle the weight of the fuel tanker-trucks that visit the small petrol station towards the top end..??

Nearly all roads in Thailand suffer from poor preparation, so even when they’ve finished laying a new stretch of road (particularly when it’s tarmac). It initially looks great but after a few months of big heavy soil trucks (and petrol tankers), they soon begin to show that the preparations weren’t up to standard and within a few years will need doing again - keeps people in jobs I suppose?

Patience, patience! It will be good. This contractor is hauling ass! As always it will be worse before getting better, especially now with rain every day. I'm wondering, did your son really think it would be dry, clean and hard surface now when they are working?

The mud on shoes is not a major consideration. He will simply avoid until finished.

The consideration is the effect on businesses on Soi 94 until its finished in OCTOBER - maybe 3 months away during rainy season. Will people visit these bars knowing they have to walk through a street resembling something like a Wild West town, when there are clean places to visit?

The entire project has been a mess (pun intended).

Wow!, I'm still housebound, so haven't seen it, but I must say, that is worse than I expected. Thanks for sharing those photos.
