A big part of what the teams get when they sign Beckham is the publicity. Why else would they pay for such amounts for him. If I remember correctly Real Madrid got their transfer fee back in very short time just by selling Real/Beckham shirts in Asia.

Must agree with the majority. Beckham has been a true professional in his attitude, took the knocks from the media and got on with his game. I, like most am also sick of reading, watching and listening to the Beckham saga, but he has gained my respect for his ability on the field. Another from his era... Paul scholes, a truly great player who somehow manages to escape the limelight and concentrate on his family.... Hats off.

i watched the opening couple of minutes of the documentary, 'a year in the life of david beckham'
believe me that couple of minutes was quite enough.
baa baa, doesn't make much difference if he's injured or not, the sales & promotions ( or should i say the circus?)carries on regardless, :(
i still stick with my original opinion of him, good but overhyped & an overrated player.
Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
