Martyrs and 'those' virgins ...

Someone (mod) please delete this if it's too inflammatory.

I have always wondered whether the 'martyrs' on their suicide missions really believed they were off to see 17,000 young virgins.

Last night I found out whether they did or didn't believe it.
'Inside 9/11' documentary on TV, re-traced the build-up to it, one of the hijackers was in a hotel near the airport the night before and rang a local company for a 200 dollar 'escort'.

No mug in the world would do that if the next day they had the pick of 17,000 ..............

And how in hell can you think about sex the night before you're gonna do that, I can't think about it the week before a dentist appointment.

there is no formal text in the koran to confirm this ridiculous idea.

i would hope the 72 virgins are the devils little imps & the terrorist is the object of their desire

thats probably a more realistic scenario

I read somewhere that this business of lots of virgins for martyrs originally came from an earlier religion pre-dating Islam. The thing is, there is a theory that the term for â€œvirginâ€

because the ancient koran was not originally written in arabic, it seems somewhere, the translations have become slightly muddled

I seem to recall from my Rugby lessons that "Four and Twenty Virgins came down from Inverness" though, alledgedly, "When the ball was over there were four and twenty less" This was a few years ago so not sure if replacements have been found.

I asked Osama Bin TucTuc about this while he was driving meinto town last night...(see Dear George...) ....and he said it was
"all a bunch of donkey balls".

Heaven is in fact full of lovely low security buildings they continually blow up, an endless supply of everburning flags, toilets with pictures of George Bush and Tony Blair in the pans, caves with dialysis machines on tap, and lots of...grapes?
