Have to say, I miss Bar Sawan and 'Henning". He was one interesting character, with many interesting tales! F#@%&d up pool table, but if you mastered it, you could smoke anyone, anywhere, on any table!

The last i heard was that Henning had a small place near to Butterfly Rock in Soi 80. Havent seen him for ages now.
Your right about that bloody table he had in Sawan - it was a real nightmare - with pillars always getting in the way also!
Sawan did good food in its day.

Yes I agree with opinion of Sawan Bar. Henning was youthful and lively when I first met him. A series of quite serious problems led to him going downhill and then the rent was increased threefold and he move to Soi Selawat. That lasted about one week and then he couldn't pay the rent their either so of he went. My worry for his sake is where he went off too. It would be could to hear from someone who has heard from him since he left Hua Hin but I think it unlikely. I fear the worst.

No one has mentioned Lazy Daze yet, that seems alway be full of a friendly bunch of staff and customers.

JW - comment accepted - Im not a regular regular and you cant control some of the occasional dicks who drift thru town.

The first scrap was a good few years ago.....Id come in with a mate to ask about your famous sunday roast and you werent in then either.....seems whenever that ever smiling face of yours aint there the dicks appear!

The scrappers ended up in the pool bar with the uniform lasses, started again, then the brownshirts turned up and nabbed em.

You could always try a cardboard cuttout of yourself as a dick deterrent!

you get my vote for the sunday roast tho!

Cheers sandman,

Gonna start up the roast again in November, and will try to keep the pricks out.
Cardboard cutout could be a laugh - think it be the victim of some pretty harsh graffitti. Let me know next time your here and will get you a beer.

Me too. In fact JWs and all of that Soi's bars are the least likely places to find trouble. If there are only two incidents like that in the space of 5 years I reckon that's a record to be proud of. I saw three fights in one week in one of those little girlie bars in Poolsuk.

Good question - as a Hua Hin Occasional, will any of the bars be doing specials over the Xmas/New Year period?
