Princess Anne has been doing great work for unicef, save the children, oxfam etc etc etc. for nearly 30 years. I cannont see two many of the "royalists' applauding her.
Whilst I appreciate Diana was the medias darling and she did help to spotlight numerous courses due to her media presence I beleive the true angel of the worlds deserving causes to be Princes Anne. Long may she continue to do so and I applaud her for it.
My personal oppinnion is that the house of Windsor is the most disfunctional family in the history of the world and Prince Philip and Prince Charles are slightly less inteligent than Steptoe and Son.
Good for tourism and tabloid sales but not much use to the British public.
Is there still a treason law in the UK !.
Perhaps one of the boards monarchists could explain to us mere mortals why it is that the Duke of Westministrer one of the richest men in the world still receives in excess of a hell of a lot of money just to attend two state banquets every year. I would do it for nout.
Respect is something that you earn, just because your are a "royal" that in my mind does not make you exempt from this rule. The behavior of the maygority of the royal family particullarly her Magesty and sidekick along with Charlie, diana, and Camilla do nothing to install the beleif of respect and dignity. They are a bad joke.

What a diverse discussion.
I personaly have little love or hate for Diana.
I was astonished at the emotional outpourings of the whole world.
It seems monarchy has merged in with this crazy fame/personality media world we have at the moment.
I would like to see the British people respect the Queen more.
Roll me back to the days when BBC2 finished at 1200hours pm.
After the old grey whistle test had played Jimi Hendrix....LIVE.
And they played the national anthem.
We all stood up.
(Several times actually, but hippies were allowed to do that.)
I have such admiration for the Thai people generally.
Maybe if Burma had a king.
