You could try the top floor of the shopping mall or along the new stretch of road that goes round to my old house (golf view) theres a big toy store there on the left.

In answer to Lomu's the answer is Naresdamri Road at one of the toursit shops selling imported wooden gift type merchandise. However they are sold at tourist rates.

What I am looking for is someone who can supply 10 or 12 indentical sets for a forthcoming ongoing association. Spare pieces would be handy too.

The sets need to be at least 12 inches (30cm) by 6 inches (15cm) when closed and I would expect to get a bit of discount on purchasing that volume. The lowest quote so far is about 7000 baht for ten.

Anybody know where we could significantly lower this price. Obviously it is worth travelling a bit to get the right discount.

URGENT NEED NOW

The request is back on. We need about ten identical sets with spare counters if possible. I have tried locally, Dan Singkorn and Penang without success.

Has anybody any ideas where these sets could be purchased or made.

Singapore might be the nearest place. I've never seen any in Thailand except the wooden ones and very small sets which are not good for playing.

New Backgammon club in Hua hin

Post by Dartmoor »

Great news the Hua Hin New backgammon club has just started and is held every thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm at Crawfords Irish Bar (Hua Hin).

10 large wooden sets have been sourced and even though they are not the most expensive sets in the world, they are fine to get the club started and to gauge local interest in those wishing to attending the new club.

The club is for anyone who would like to learn to play the game ( i have played for over 30 years and taught people the game all over the world on a friendship & the love of the game) basis.

If you play on a regular basis or you have not played in a very long time but would like to play the game again, come along and support this new club.

We meet upstairs from 5 pm onwards but as this is low season if the attending numbers are low, then we may finsih playing before 8 pm.

So come along on a thursdau and join in the fyn
