Manchester City Football Team

Post by seasidesurfer »

Hi from sunny Scarborough.
Is there any interest in Thailand in the Manchester City Football Team.
Since Thaksin bought the club my Thai Wife is following every move and is now an avid supporter to the exclusion of Liverpool and Everton ( Beer Chang )
They won again today to go second in the Premiership.
Cheers. Steve.

seasidesurfer,

Please see this thread http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/ma ... t6182.html

Regarding general interest in Thailand, I can only reflect on a visit down Soi Binthabat on the day Man City beat Man Utd. As the final went, the cheer that went up and down the Soi from the Thais was deafening .................. very unusual because before Thaksin took over, a large percentage of Thais loved Man Utd.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

I remember once going to Ladakh up on the Himalayan plateau....you can only go there 3 months a year cos its snowed in the rest of the time.

Walk into the gueshouse and little "sherpa" bloke says hello and asks where Im from. I say Manchester (as Bolton is a bit too specific in most of the world)....he rushes out back and runs back in with a Red Shirt

"Manchester United Number 1 eh?"

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Hi Big Boy.
Thanks for the reply. I read the threads and was suprised at all the negative comments.
However the Man City fans like a winning team with 45,688 at the last home game. Only the Gunners had more support.
The choice of Sven as manager was a master stroke.

Hi Seasidesurfer

A bit cold for surfing in scabby !

I'm from Hull so had many day trips down the coast, Brid,Filey,Hornsea,Scarborough of course (in Peasohlm Park as a kid watching the ships and planes in a mock fight) and my favourites for a weekend, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.

Are you living in HH or still in UK ?

Yes Richard.

In summer a group of us from my work and a group from Beverley Borough Council would drive after work to Fraisethorpe to play footy on the beach (for some reason) then stop at Brandseburton on the way home for a couple of pints. (Not the nudey bit of course)

Visited Spurn Point also, a long drive with nothing then a little village at the end of it with the workers cottages.

I will be in HH from 23rd Nov to 11th Dec if you are around.

Hi and thanks for all the replies.
I will be in HuaHin from mid Jan for 8 weeks so I hope to meet up with some of you. We have a bungalow next to Dusit 7 and we are looking forward to a permanant move.
I love the Town and always feel at home there. ( A sunnier version of Scarborough )
