Doctor wanted for NZ medical reports.

Post by retread »

AS I need to provide my NZ insurance company with 3 monthly medical reports, ( when I shift to HH ) I need a doctor who you think could do the job ??
Is anyone in this situation of being on a medical benefit from thier home country and needing to supply periodic med updates from HH. thanks

Although I havn't had to do it, I would have thought that doctors at either San Paulo or The Polyclinic would be able to provide a medical. They're used to doing them for retirees (although those are not so necessary these days).
The only thing would be if you needed something specific checked. General certificates won't be a problem and cost next to nothing - 100 Baht or so?

Went to Sao Paulo recently to get the 'health certificate' that you need in order to get your Thai driver's license. Cost 250 Baht. That is for the "please stick out your tongue, yes, you are fine, bye bye" thing. (I was told later I could have got it from any other docor for 50 Baht).
We are all living in 'the good old days' of the future.

You really need to ask your NZ insurance company what their requirement is. They may only accept a report from an Embassy approved Doctor, which I very much doubt will include anyone in Hua Hin.

Depending upon your medical problem, would you not rather have the peace of mind with the opinion of a recommended Doctor in any case?

I am in a similar position, albeit with an American Insurance Co, and that`s the way they want it.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Thanks for the ideas. The health issue I have is simply a disability which excludes me from working. All I need is a Doc in HH to fill in a form every 3 months saying , yes this patient is still unable to work and fax it off. . I don't care if he's DR Spook, and I would like to be able to give my Insurance Co; a Dr's name & address ? when I put the Question to them about my move to HH.
