Nearly 40 per cent of respondents in a survey conducted by Assumption University's Abac Poll still don't even know that the general election is firmly scheduled for December 23.
The poll – conducted among 2,993 persons in Bangkok and the surrounding areas – showed that only 60.3 per cent of the respondents knew that the election would be held on December 23, while all the other 39.7 per cent did not know.
On the other hand, more than half of the respondents -- 54.3 per cent -- said they already had favourite political parties in mind.
The poll also indicated that 53 per cent of those surveyed disagreed with the so-called "iron rules" of the Election Commission, which prohibit candidates from launching their own political party public activities and several other rigid requirements.
They said that such rules would prevent voters from knowing the policies of each party contesting the election.
However, 47 per cent of the respondents said they believed the EC rules would bring about fairly contested elections between big and small political parties, which have smaller campaign budgets.
Regarding the country's economic prospects after the election, 75.2 per cent of respondents said they were not confident that the economy would improve after the election while slightly less than one in four -- or 24.8 per cent -- were optimistic.

I know mate, the whole thing is a farce - the military basically wrote themselves into having more control by changing the constitution and whoever gets elected will write them out by changing it again.
If populist national front get elected I predict six months until the return of Mr T.
