Nightlife map update

Post by Lev »

We are finally working on a new nightlife map to replace the current one which is quite dated now.

We would like a little assistance for the bars we're unsure of so anyone in the know please post the names here. Also some of our naming maybe wrong as our research team became inebriated towards the end of the count.

The preview can be seen here, its not live on the site yet:

http://www.huahinafterdark.com/nlmap2.htm

The red ones are unknown.

Please also let us know if we've missed any, a larger map will also be coming soon to include bars a little further out.

One omission i have spotted straight away is Cat Bar, which is between Jaew and Bernies - it is another karaoke as well. They are in the darts league and we played there on Tuesday!
The one in between Bob Bon and Buddys on the street with no name is called the Queen Victoria I think, or at least used to be.
I think there is another bar next door to Paradise which used to be a hair salon run by Kai and Too, which they converted and called (I think) Family Bar. There is also a new bar I noticed last night near Jungle Juice with a funny name, something like Sofana (can't remember exactly). I think you may also have missed another 2 or 3 down Soi Selekam - I'm pretty sure there is at least one between Lolitas and Moonlight as well.
Is it also not worth extending the map slightly so as to include The Shed and the other bars near there? Finally, are you not counting All Nations as a bar any more?

I don't know the name, but the great thing about this place is that you can still get your hair cut in the back.

Have added a few updates, thanks for the info.

Still need to know the names of those places in the Bazaar area and the two bars north on P&P on Poolsuk.

There will also be another map with all bars in the area once we can finalise this one.

Excellent looking map! This should come in handy on my first trip later this month.

Will it be printable when all the updates are finished?

The Night Life Map gets smaller ...
Many good water holes are not spotted anymore,
Or just never were ?
Any purpose ?

Does the spark bar still exist? Same owner as flamingo, seperated by a shop and next to the smelliest sewer HH can hit you with? With Lazy Daze the other side - ah, the aroma?! :D

Spark/Flamingo's used to be the resident bar of a German guy I met (you say Ballack, I say Lampard, now I say both) who I heard ripped off a lot of bars with a tab(?) he couldn't pay and ended up being arrested?

Jimiherf,

I don't really understand what you're saying. Certainly the number of bars has significantly grown since I first visited Hua Hin (2000).

I take your point about many good watering holes not spotted any more, but that's life! Bars come, bars go, but overall I think the number of bars in Hua Hin is growing.

Lev,

Vast improvement on the old map - thank you.

Caller

Spark bar is now run by a Frenchman called Alan

Flamingo is still run by Sueanne

Both are leased and the property is owned by the small shop inbetween

BB, I think Jimiherf was complaining that many bars hadn't been put on the map. But that was the point of Lev putting this thread on, Jimiherf, so that members could tell him of any bars that had inadvertently been left out. So, if there are some missing, Jimiherf, post which ones & where they are & I'm sure Lev will update the map.
