Good luck to the Scots I say. I'll always cheer for any of the home nations when they play. Why not, I've lived in them all at some time or other during my life.

Through gritted teeth, I have to say good luck to the Jocks, but I think England will be meeting you for an alternative game or two in the summer. :(

From a totally unbiased view, here is my summary.

Scotland are on form and have done well so far in the qualifiers. There is really nothing to pick between Italy, the Sweaties and the Frogs. Scotland are not afraid of big names. Scotland have beaten the group leaders twice already in this competition.

Scotland need to win a little more than Italy do. Italy can loose and still qualify if France get beaten by Ukraine.

Scotland can draw. Equal points with France puts France below Scotland.

Italy's recent crowd problems has put a downer on every single blue blooded Italian supporter and player.

Italy are the least beaten side in the group.

On the down side for Scotland.

I can only think of tangible one. You can not lose.

The other bonus that springs to mind is that it must be a hell of a moral booster to know that they have a very realistic chance of qualifying while England need a very remote technical possibility to do so.

The ideal situation for me would be for a draw between Italy and Scotland, with France getting stuffed by Shevchenko & co. and Italy cruising to a 5 or 6 nil win against the Faroe Islands.

This is also a good read (although a bit long) http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1816492007

Hopefully you are able to access the following link to Youtube which has a trailer for the Scotland v Italy game.

Just a fairly typical low key buildup to the game

The tension is starting to mount already with just under 4 hours left to kick off. I'd better go and take some medication    :thumb:

As an ardent English supporter I sympathise with all those from North of the Border. The Spanish Ref gifted the Italians the free kick which turned the game and f***ed the result.
