need yellow book to open bank account

Post by norm »

Just returned from the bank and while shooting the breeze with the clerk, was told that for a falang to open a bank account now reguired a yellow book. She said this new rule was about a month old. Has anyone else heard about this? Although it is not required if you open the account in foreign currency. :?

Kasikorn bank still only asks for ID such as passport only.

That was in the bank of Ayudhya HH. Didn't really matter to me as already have an account. Was just curious if they were making things more difficult for new accounts. :?

Whats a yellow book?

I have 3 accounts in Hua Hin all opened with just a passport, though some were done a while ago.

Moving this to the appropriate section.
