Just a reminder that the Pranburi long-boat races are taking place all day tomorrow.

We still have some places free on our big boat with the best view possible.
Just give us a call if anyone's interested.

I saw this big banner about the Hua Hin dragon boat races a couple days ago. It's tomorrow.

Anybody going to it, and is it easy to get there by motorbike from Hua Hin? I have no idea where the reservoir is. This seems to be the only related thread and I'm surprised there isn't more info "floating around" about it...

Its in Paknampran which is about 30km south of Hua Hin, best to call Barry for directions as he is right at the venue. Turn off Petchkasem at the "Pranburi Forrest Park" sign and follow the signs to Evason ... then call for directions!

Here are some photos from last year:

This is about the closest I could get for a map:

I'm sure that tomorrow (23rd) it is going to be held at Khao Tao reservoir. I spoke to several startled locals today and they said that is supposed to start at 10:00. They have erected several hundred canopy's and about 375,000 plastic chairs are ready. There are floating flags marking out the course and big banners full of squiggly writing. So something must be going on?
