Christmas Dinner
Excuse my ignorance, but whilst I have managed to get a fair sized Turkey into a standard oven, I have never tried getting a full grown fat goose into the oven, is it possible without having bits hanging out.
Is there a particular variety of Goose, or will any goose do.

Re: stuff the turkey.
Blimey, somebody's had some very UNmerry Christmases in the past. Personally, I've always found it to be (another) good excuse to have a few drinks and a laugh with family and friends. Not forgetting the turkey, though he wasn't a bundle of laughs either.nightstalker wrote:if everyone want traditional food and cold weather, fighting in the pubs, tacky decorations, sad men looking for there once a year jump. The once a year drinkers complaining about prices. socks and striped jumpers for presents----------------

Can someone give me a call when the 3 of you try to catch them? Geese can be pretty formidable, they're used instead of guard dogs in some places.Wanderlust wrote:andsargeant wrote:Richard i agree goose is not only traditional but IMHO better, I managed to get one about 3/4 years ago and cooked it myself it was ok but my chef experience did not do it justice. You're right Dawn - my wife is petrified of them! She won't go anywhere near them because they hissed at her and started coming towards her once. Strange thing is they and I saunter past each other quite happily! I wonder if it is the same as other animals, when they can sense someone's fear?DawnHHDRC wrote:Can someone give me a call when the 3 of you try to catch them? Yes, one of them just disappeared a couple of days ago, and I am reliably informed by my wife that Thais don't eat goose, so that rules out one group of suspects! I can say, hand on heart, that I had nothing to do with it either, but there was a strange farang cruising past on his motorbike around the time of the disappearance....
