Following on from Hebio and Isiah's comments on price comparisions, although I've not played golf in Pattaya, I know plenty of people who have and it's cheaper than HH now. Again, simply down to the number of courses and competition.
The courses here are great though. I must reemember to get out more often.

Heebio. I just looked into hotels in Pattaya and all seemed more expensive. I did not see anything in the 500-600 range. Can you suggest something in this price range?

Partly due to the better infrastructure, but mostly due to the massive farang population, there are hundreds of bars, restaurants, guesthouses, hotels etc. The fierce competition for business means that IMHO the average price of a beer, meal or room can be quite a bit cheaper than Hua Hin. Certainly the quality of the rooms you can get there are much superior to what you'd get for the equivalent baht in HH.

Hi Isiah,

The last time I was in Pattaya I stayed at, what was described as, a 3*+ hotel/apartments, for 1300 baht per night....2 bedrooms, massive living/diningroom, UBC, TV's in living room and bedrooms, dvd player, corner room with corner balcony, nice pool, up market bar etc...it was plush. Could not Adam n Eve what I was getting for the money. Location was top as well....walking distance from everywhere worth walking to. Sorry, but this cannot be had for the same money in HH....I wish.

There are plenty of sites that will quote you more than decent alternatives and prices.

If you cannot find this kind of deal online PM me or ask one of the resident Pattaya members here. I'd suggest 'prcscct'. Mucho apologies for the presumption here Pete, but I reckon you can be more assistance than I can.

Dunno how long you've got in August Isiah but Pattaya might be an option for a few days - just don't bypass Hua Hin man, it is the mut's....

Sorry late reply, been busy moving. There are many hotels in that price range, some good some bad. Here is a link to what I think is the best in that range and, just dropped a friend off there this morning who always stays there and swears by it. Don't expect a "resort" but clean, safe and inexpensive. When you get here, take some time to walk and explore other guesthouses and small hotels. You may discover more hidden gems. Pete

If your looking for cheap rooms in Pattaya and you're not too fussy about location, you should take a walk down Soi Yamato. Its a sort of "Little Britain". Many of the bars down there have rooms above them for rent at about 400-500 baht per night. Most have air-con, tv, fridge and hot water.
