Transport to Hua Hin
Transport to Hua Hin
Hi all,
I know this is not very correct to be asking questions, first time logging into a forum. But i am really excited to know that there is actually a forum on Hua Hin.
First of all let me introduce myself, My name is Tan Tong and i am from singapore, so if any guys wanted to visit my beautiful garden city please let me know i will do all i can to assist you.
Ok i am going to visit Hua hin on the 19 of oct, staying in evason. just want to know wat is the most ecomical way to get to HH from BKK airport? I know there is a coach services somwhere(i dunno where) but am afraid of the traffic jams and moreover i will be arriving 2 pm i the afternoon, likely to be caught in the jam. I know the limosine going to cost about 3500b. any advise on this?
Anyone be so kind to help me. I know nuts about Hua Hin. I know i shoulding be waiting for people to spoon feed me, but i am really too busy to go through all the postings. ( i will do that soon, but too excited to find this site, that is why asking the questions now.)
Another questions how is the weather going to be in Oct. Can i do sea sports in Hua hin, are the beaches as nice as the ones in Phuket?

I travelled on the Blue Coaches that leave Bangkok to Hua Hin and would advise against it. Although is was very cheap (128baht) one way, 3hrs sitting on vinyl seats with hardly any Air Conditioning is really not the way to start a holiday.
I got a taxi back from HH and cost me 1600baht and took about 2 hrs 30Mins.
If you do a search in the forum under mini van or taxi, you will find heaps of posts regarding travel to and from Bangkok.
I stayed at the Sofitel, but had a look round the Evanson, and seems a very good place to stay.

Ok now i know my options is mini van and taxi. i will be travelling with my wife so if i take the minivan option it will cost me (160X2=320+300=620b) if i take taxi direct to HH will cost me 2000b so the diff is 1380b.
Can anyone tell me what is the time different, i know the time for taxi is about 2h 30 mins wat about minivans?

Evason is 27km south of Hua Hin, I used to work there. Roads are not too bad and I did the ride often enough but I certainly wouldnt want to do it at night if you like living.

Taxi to Evason
Firstly I would have thought that if you could afford the Evason and are looking for that sort of quality then a few baht extra for a taxi would not be a problem. No hassle, comfort and convenient. Note though that most taxi's charge more for the Evason because of the distance from Hua Hin (I believe it is about 30 Kms south)
Transport to Hua Hin
If avoid the taxi touts in arrivals and go to the Bangkok metered taxi rank at the airport a cab will be 2300 baht inclusive of toll for the expressway. This is the price to Hua Hin no idea how much extra down to the Evason.
thanks for all the replies.
i book the hotel but on 19/10 they are full, so i am goin to stay one night in hilton.
for taxi do they use the meter i just have to bargin. so the price now is more than 2000 right?
actually i will fancy a more comfy transport like a toyota if the different is not too much. i have been to bkk a number of times and i have a few bad expriences with the taxi. mainly because that they veh is too old.
Do you guys think i can bargin with those counters that provide transport?
