We have owned our house in Hua Hin and visit twice a year we are having problems with our Management Company not doing the work needed.
Does anyone know of a good reliable company who can maintain the garden, keep pool clean and healthy and air the house, and check for any problems.

I can only suggest by observation, not by first-hand experience. Our neighbors who are absentee owners started out using Room-by-Room. They were very conscientious, came regularly, and the place looked great. Subsequently, they changed to another company for reasons unknown to me, and the garden got quite neglected and run-down.

Spot on Dolly.
People tend to change gardener as soon as they discover cheaper alternatives. Here where I live; cheap means bad quality and a lot of people can tell you that.
A reasonable priced guy - and reasonable good work try this number:
086 846 7234. Ask for Sam.

I intend to live forever - so far so good.

I am Reluctant to name ManagementCompany and although they were not the cheapest they came highly recommended, unfotunately they have been a big disappointment.
We just want someone responsible so that when we are not in HuaHin we have peace of mind.

Hi , if you are not already organised send me a pm and I will give you the number of our lady gardener who is excellent. We are away like you and she cares for the house twice a month, 45sqm pool and decent size garden 3 times a week for 6000 baht a month. I know the work is done regularly from comments from friends out there about how well the place looks.

Try heading up soi 88 all the way to the top and keep going until you hit the new tarmac road, slow down .There is a small garden centre on the left about 500m in front of you .The guys name is Jack .He does work for us at very reasonable rates .If you would like to look at his work feel free to pm me.His English is pretty good .

sam, I don't really want to get into a 'what's it worth?' sort of discussion, as the answer is always 'whatever you're willing to pay', but 6000 baht must be roughly equivalent to the average monthly salary in Thailand, certainly for an unskilled worker, so if the person you're employing is working at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week on your property, I'd say you have a bargain.
Having said that (1), getting someone you can trust and rely on to do a good job is worth paying extra for.
Having said that (2), let's say (and I'm feeling generous) that she does 3 hours a day, 3 times a week. If she had only two other similar jobs, which would leave plenty of time for som tam and snooze breaks, she'd be earning more than most Thai professionals. If she had 4 more, she'd be earning more than me. And that's probably why I commented in the first place!
Does anyone out there want a reliable gardener?

Astronauts wages!
6000B or $200 or 100 quid. not too much for a good job

cleaning a pool WELL 3 times a week with all chems etc about 2500.
three times a week in the garden 2000
that's 1500 for attending to the home a bit pricy but I've found you get what you pay for.
neighbor had a farang guy do the pool and yard 2 times a week for 4000
while they were gone, ---might have come once a week,

gardners are like prop agents

SAM stick with what's working. not worth the hassel to save a few bob what if you ain't lucky first time out. disaster.

Astronaughts wages indeed

attitudes like that give us farangs a bad name. kiiniow!!

Its difficult to make gneralisations for Thai Salaries, but I'd like to comment on the references to 'professional' salaries.
My Company is in Bangkok, so I guess the wages would be noticably higher than HH.
I have several professional people, but I would call them only 'junior' professionals, mostly Sales and Engineers.
Base Salaries are in the 40-60K per month, plus bonuses, plus expenses, plus other benefits.
Its extremely difficult to fill vacancies at these levels. My salaries are considered far from the best in my industry. I know many foreign and Thai Companies (small and big) that pay higher than I, and 1 or 2 that pay considerably more than me, and still they struggle to find the correct staff. Of course I also know many compnaies paying less (a lot less sometimes) than me, but seldom could you call their employees professional.
Anyway, a little off topic, but thought I'd add it anyway.
