Silly season has started, sadly.

Post by DawnHRD »

Had to take 5 dogs to Petchburi this morning & on my return headed out to Khao Tao to see my temple dogs. In the space of 5 hours (7:30am to 12:30pm) I saw 4 road accidents - some serious. On the way to Cha-am was also the remnants of what I presume was a serious accident last night - shattered glass & a lot of blood in the middle of the road.

The Songkran silly season seems to have started. :( Please everyone take extra care when driving or crossing the street - as it seems many people are taking no care at all.

I have just completed a 6 1/2 hr journey from Surin to my apartment in Pra Kanong Bangkok.

I had intended to continue on to Hua Hin today but frankly I've decided to complete the journey tomorrow.

The total lunacy of Thai drivers - especially over Songkran - beggars belief.

14 accidents witnessed on the journey today and came close to one myself when a Schumacher wannabee driving a pickup in excess of 160kph i.e. 100mph, was weaving in and out of traffic down the treacherous hill near to Kaeng Khoi on highway 2.

Happy Songkran all
