Super Joe,I have been reading Pattaya city news online, for nearly 3 years,it is a real eye opener and makes me think that HH is a far safer place to be,i have also learnt a lot about wot can go on in LOS,the worst of Thais and the worst of farangs all in one big melting pot,no wonder some people regard Pattaya as the evil place :twisted:
One thing that sticks in my mind is when the world cup was on me and the wife took are boys there (my step sons) and stayed at the Welcome hotel, down Soi Welcome Jomtien as we did not want to stay in Pattaya with the kids but there are some good things there like the water park, croc farm, go cart track, and i still had the opportunity to go and watch the footie with 5 friends that live there and have businesses there.Some evening we would eat and walk down the Soi, and i would take the boys fishing on the beach, there was a 7-11 conveniance store and i would nip in there for a can of beer about every 20 minuites it was very handy,two weeks later in the same location two Russian woman perchased a small bottle of wisky sat in a couple of deck chairs at about 5am and by 6am a thai man shot both woman at point blank range. I could not belive this as it was right where we had been and since then on the same Soi there has been another murder and robbery.
I have only been there once and i think it is a nasty place.
If i do manage to get a secondment to Leam Chabang port i will live near the port away from the evil place 30km away and be very carefull were i live,i will become a HH weekender and that will have to do for know . :cheers:

That wasnt a random shooting with the Russian women if its the one I remember, they were both involved in the P4P scene, it could have been drugs, money or endless other possibilities.

You can have a great time in Pattaya, its okay for a weekend away, but thats my limit.

OK...strap y'selves in.....

Pattaya = NAROK ..... thats what Mrs S calls it...... in Sanskrit that means HELL....thats what the Thais call it.

reasons why:

1) The King dont live down the road
2) Accordingly the police here in HH do give some sort of f**k about certain propriety laws that, well, stifle the Pattaya and Patpong crowd like pole dancing/street muggung into bars, etc;
3) There are a bugger of a lot less E European (Russian/Georgian/Azerbi) business/house owners in HH;

So
"
bless every day that the bottom feeders in life gravitate to Pattaya and Patpong...and when they show up here run em out of town sharpish before HH becomes Pattaya.

The two Russian lasses who were shot were both trafficking cases who escaped and didnt run far enough ....looked it up and they were both short range small caliber hits.........and that Interpol's take on it.....

Pattaya is nexus for Russian/Georgian/Azerbi "mafiya" crime....count your blessings it aint here, and resist any signs of it moving in....or HH will turn into Patayya.

I follow Mrs S.... Pattaya and Patpong = Narok.

"Russian" tourists = trouble coming.

sounds a bit NIMBY dont it...... not wanting E Europeans next door.....

I work in Russia a lot .... and believe me or not ... really we do not want them here in HH. They are a nightmare on legs....

Pattaya has em in droves and look at what happens there.....

Thank god for Pattaya and Patpong.....

I could never life permanently in Pattaya because with the type of people it attracts,both farang and thai,its inevitable you would eventually end up having a bad experience there....robbery etc.
But its not a bad place to go for a short holiday(we actually stay in Jomtien).....some good restaurants,cheap shopping at the markets and plenty for the kids to do.

My worst nightmare is that HH becomes a small Pattaya one day. This site pattayadailynews is a real eye opener. There are always incidents, every day you see something new there. It speaks volumes about the place.

If you compare the town to just five years ago you'll see its already happening slowly, more burglaries, more scumbag farangs out for a quick buck, more corruption, more mafia types, business ethics in decline, more backstabbing competitors, more fights, more immigration crackdowns. The only thing we don't have here is naked women dancing around poles.

One day ...
