Cheap flights. Bangkok-London

Post by lee808 »

Hi People

My girlfriend is travelling over to the UK in about 16-17 days time and returning back to Thailand in September.

Anyone know of a good Thai online travel agent where we can book the flights please ?

She wishes to fly direct and i am not sure if we'd get the best deal booking in Thailand ? Or just using one of the many flight booking systems available to people in the UK ?

Any suggestions etc much appreciated as always.

Regards

Lee

Try these people:

http://www.saveflights.com/

I know they sponsor the dark side, but they also sponsor a UK based UK-Thai forum as well and that came about because of word being put around that they were a good company to deal with. You'll be safe with them. My wife got a good deal recently on Eva.

But there are others out there, as I'm sure you will hear.....

Not so easy to book from the UK.

lee,

I've to book with travel agents in the UK on several occasions for flights starting in Bangkok. On each occasion the advice has been that it would be cheaper to purchase the ticket in Thailand.

Because your flight is over a three month period I’m afraid most airlines are going to charge you the full fair as they don’t normally discount flights like that. To get an idea of prices just try the airline websites and if you need a direct flight I think Thai airways will probably be as good as it gets. If you are prepared to put in a stop in the Middle East, Etihad charge will charge you about 40,000 bt for this.

An Asian based online travel company:http://www.zuji.com/web/content/splash_index.htmlare quoting 1337 Sing. dollars for a flight around this period on British Airways, direct Bangkok to Heathrow, that’s about 500 pounds and a pretty good deal.

Post by lee808 »

Thanks for the posts guys, i'll have a shop around looking at the various sites mentioned and let you know the outcome.

My brother, who lives in Bangkok is always harping on about the Khao San Road being one of the cheapest places in the world to book international, long haul flights but i cant seem to find any decent online agents so thats a no, no i guess.....

Lee, most of those travel agents on Khao Sahn Road are small local operators that won’t be online. Perhaps you could get your brother to go down there and get you a quote.

richard,
I am at the early stage of planning a trip to the UK in December, but DTC has no mention of flights to Europe, or indeed anywhere outside Australasia. Have you bought air tickets from them to Europe, and if so, do they have a separate website for online bookings/fare and availability checks? Or do you have to call them or go and see them?

richard,
Thanks, but I am trying to avoid making a load of phone calls to find the best deal, because i want to browse online, and book that way too if possible. I think that is what the OP is after as well so that is why I asked. Can you at least give some idea of flights, airlines, rough dates and prices you have booked with them so we can have some idea?
