Ye Old Baffulo Tavern

Post by rtjordan »

visit Hau Hin every year in March with my family, I think it is a lovely friendly place.
My favourite place to eat and drink is Ye Old Buffalo Tavern, the atmosphere there is very friendly for me on my own or with my children and wife, but the best thing of all is the food, wonderful!!! I think it has the best food in all of Hua Hin, and if anybody is going to visit Hua Him, I highly recommend that you check the place out.

I dined there recently.
I had a few comments about the place which I told Paul the person in charge while Bill was away.

I PM'd Bill but got no reply.

I'll put my comments here since he appears not to be interested or perhaps is still on leave - nor sure which.

Chicken was tough,
Plate full of gravy - i'd prefer to have the gravy served seperately and allow me to put it on my meal as I wanted.
Prices quoted on the board outside should say 'not including taxes etc'. Misleading and a good ploy to get people in to eat because it appears to be cheaper than other places until you get your bill.

Anyone else have similar experiences ??

Disgraceful ! no Michelin 6* establishment should ever serve a meal with the sauce on the same plate as the food .Call Egon Ronay and demand he downgrade them .Anyone would think they were running a PUB with behaviour like that .

Not fishing for the free meal are you ?

No free meal Crazy. Not into that sort of carry on.

Just passing a comment as to the way I think the food might be served.

Everyone is different I suppose.

Everyone to his own.

Its a shocking state of affairs when gravy boats aren't provided, so for any HH restauranteurs out there who just can't find the d..n things for love or money, I am more than willing to start flogging them on ebay for you. Free cake stand with orders for 12 or more. Proper fish knives might be a problem though...

Just back from an excellent Sunday roast (as usual)

Bill is back in the driving seat. Met his charming wife and children

I have to say Bill is a little pissed off with wingers and I agree with him

I think as in all restaurants you need to be specific about how you want it served. Double apple sauce, thin or thick gravy, on the plate or in a gravy boat. Steak blue not rare. It doesn't take much to ask

Get on down there and check it out

10% service charge has disappeared by the way

Richard,

Can you define winger (assume you mean whingers) please?

Did my May thread (link above) fall into that category? Bill knew I was coming in May, he persuaded me to visit his place and let him know what I thought. It was not my fault he decided to go walkabout.

I tried to be constructive with my comments, and he did not even have the decency to respond.

Do you mind explaining this saying Richard?
Football wingers or Wing Commanders?

Riveting stuff Richard. Keep us posted on the quality of Bills gravy and sunday roasts. Its such a highly important and controversial subject in Hua Hin. I wonder where it will all end! Let us know if he adds an extra pudding to his menu.
