Forget awl dat Jazz, Rock Rulez Hua Hin on 13-14.

Post by Farang »

An illiterate friend of mine (you think I’m joking, what?) gave me a flier to read. From the flier I gleaned that there’ll be

an original 1950 Rock Music Happening at Jazz Makers Guest House Friday – Saturday 13-14 starting 21:00/ 9pm.

The venue is on Naebkehart Road 64/4 on the corner of Chomsin and Naebkehart.

The tickets cost 100 baht each and the program consist ONLY of 1950 rock by luminaries such as

Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley

The band performing is Peter Driscoll and The Cruisers, who have been at Rock more than 50 years!

Personally I prefer rock to jazz, and, having been to every one of the HH Jazz Festivals so far,
am quite tired of the amateurish way it is handled each year. In particular I am tired
of the fact that at a Jazz and beer happening there are very few working toilets.

Therefore it’ll be good ol’ Rock ’n’ Roll legends for me on the Jazz Weekend. And no pissing in the wind!
100 baht is a very good price for a proper seat, selection of beer and a working toilet.

Looks good but why on earth do these people coincide it with the jazz festival? There are 51 other weekends in the year :banghead:

:agree: with you there Buksida! On this weekend all of Hua Hin will be so bursting full that it isn't funny anymore. Reestaurants will be all full, tarffic will be a total Nightmare. I guess staying @home and watch it go by is the best solution. If it's not possible, than stop @ JW's place and let the crowd go by than move on!

Awl dat Rock,,,

I have no idea why, I'm just the bearer of the Joyful Tidings, so shoot me!
I'd rather have had it at any other time, and several times to boot.

Perhaps Rockers move in Mysterious Ways their Music to perform?

Caught the band on the Sat.good crowd as a late 60s boy bit before my time but the band rocked an rolled,I think they will be back soon.
but I was a bit worried with our more mature pats doing those 50s swings.
you can see this band on youtube-bangkokcruisers.
